We come to Cozumel twice a year and have stayed at Plaza Azul for the past several years. We 'do' the European plan--breakfast included--and go into town to eat lunch and dinner. We ask for an upper floor, and have almost always been given a room on the fourth floor--all rooms are ocean view. The staff of Plaza Azul has... More

We took a cab to Playa Azul and spent a few hours snorkeling in the super clear water. Not alot to see but some of the prettiest water on the island. We ordered several rounds of drinks which were all wonderful and took a walk down the beach to check out the area where we spent many vacations when the... More

I had a day to kill in Cozumel before my family arrived, so I wanted to find a nice beach with a restaurant to chill out and do a bit of snorkeling. The manager at my hotel recommended Blue Azul. It's part of a resort, but if you have lunch or something to drink they don't ask any questions. The... More

I recently went to Plata Azul public beach in Cozumel on July 5, 2014. Amazing beach great food, amazing snorkeling. The beach is free, to get here you get a taxi and ask them to take you to playa azul, they will know where to go. It cost me $7 USD to get to the beach. There is a restaurant... More

Used to stay here (5 x in 20 years) but their prices have gone up so much, I had to look for other accommodations. But I love the staff, so we snorkeled up for lunch one afternoon. The lunch and the staff were top notch! Shrimp Avocado Salad, Caesar Salad, Burger and Club Sandwich were all very good. Salsa, excellent.... More

My new husband and I went on an excursion when our cruise docked in Cozumel. There were 3 parts to the excursion: 1. Jungle Buggy Ride, 2. Making Mexican Salsa, 3. Snorkeling. The jungle buggy ride was fun, although not really in a jungle. It was on cobblestone roads that wound around through tall fields. Looked as though it was... More

Vacationed at Playa Azul 2 weeks February and March, taking in Carnaval festivities. We have been here several times over past 10 years and enjoyed our stay, as always. Best part of stay most definitely because of staff. All are very friendly and make it their mission to ensure everyone is receiving all their wants and needs. Special thanks to... More

This is a lovely little resort. It is small with only about 40 rooms. Ask for the fourth floor and you are guarenteed a great view. We wew in 407 which directly faces the ocean right off the elevator. Great room, very clean. Clientele is older so if you are looking for nightlife at the resort then this is not... More

Playa Azul is a lovely spot to enjoy the beautiful Cozumel beachfront, snorkeling and local atmosphere!! The snorkeling is delightful and the views are just lovely. The restaurant serves a variety of food and drink at a reasonable price for the location, and the staff are pleasant and helpful, so it is a great place to spend the day enjoying... More
