We joined 2 of our friends to the steam lodge. A natural surrounding. The story we were told... A little bit too much alternative, but that could be personal... We like the most the jump in the water and the relaxing area. On the day we were there it was pretty busy. That was the least we liked, had expected... More

The Temazcal (steam lodge) experience is the utimate way to unwind while in Cozumel. Petrus (owner/proprietor) takes time to educate his guests about the Mayan culture and the ancient ritual use of the steam lodge. Once you've sweated away your worries (and no doubt a few pounds), be sure to take a plunge in the cenote (natural spring pool). The... More

My husband and I visited the Tezmecal Steam Lodge this past April and had a wonderful experience. I had exchanged e-mails with Petrus before booking to get more details, so we were fully aware that the temperature would gradually reach 140° F. Petrus was great--friendly, knowledgeable, gracious and hard-working. Being in total darkness did not bother me at all (the... More

We booked this as an off shore excursion while on a cruise. We were picked up promptly and Petrus explained some Mayan history to us and the other 4 travelers in the vehicle on the way to the lodge. When we arrived, we relaxed in hammocks and listened to more explanations of the Mayan calendar and the steam lodge. Petrus... More

We thought the website looked magical. We were expecting a magical experiance deeply rooted in ancient Mayan culture, then to be cleansed with steam and a dip in a cenote. This is not how the day went. First, I must say, we loved Petrus. He was wonderful from minute one. He picked us up in town and drove us to... More

This spiritual journey is definitely worth taking. This steam room mayan style is something you should try. Definitely not for people with low blood pressure as it is pretty intense. After the bath, you can jump into a beautiful cenote... More

Mayan Steam Lodge, Petrus and company are the real deal. No worries ... just relax and enjoy what comes up. Safe, secure, a peacefulness, for a few hours, beyond understanding. No better way to spend vacation hours - truly re-creation. Thank you great brother Petrus for the work that you do! More

I definitely recommend that travelers visit this "attraction." It is more an experience than it is an attraction. I found it liberating. When you have forgotten most of the other details of your vacation, you won't have forgotten the Mayan Steam Lodge. More

I cannot express my appreciation for the work that Petrus is doing to keep alive the Mayan tradition of the Temazcal to those visiting the island. Everyone who I have been lucky enough to share this experience with has been extremely happy to have chosen this option when only on the island for a day. It is not your typical... More
