I have done a temazcal before in Tulum, but it was in no way comparable to the intimate, spiritual, personal experience our group had with Petrus and his assistant, Federico. The energy was intense and the location perfect, remote and quiet, where you could hear your own thoughts and connect with nature again. Pack mosquito repellant, and remember this isn't... More

From the friendly greeting Petrus met us with throughout the entire adventure, this was an amazing trip out into the jungle and into my own heart and mind to rest, cleanse, and renew my spirit. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to move beyond the flashy entertainment into what life is really all about.

This world have been a neat experience if not for a couple of things... 1) mosquitoes inside the steam lodge eating you alive for an hour 2) a pool a yellow dirty standing water 'amber cenote' and 3) water is drinken out of questionably clean bowls 4) Petrus is not mayan so the authenticity was a bit lacking. Petrus is... More

Our family was really looking forward to the day as a departure from our other types of beach/water excursions during our cruise. We were hoping to fit this event in during the morning and early afternoon and then be able to hit a beach before our ship departed unfortunately that wasn’t the case. We had a nice experience but one... More

I still cannot believe it took us so long to enjoy this experience. Incredibly good experience, Had never been in a temazcali and Petrus made sure you felt comfortable and guided with enthusiasm and energy. The night dive and swim in the cenote with dim candle light was very liberating. If you really wish to experience nature, traditions and a... More

Petrus guided us through this amazing experience by first giving us context about the Mayan belief systems in terms of their calendar, medicinal practices, and a history of the area. Then we were led through some spiritual and naturalistic rituals that helped open up my mind and my pores. The steam lodge experience was like nothing I've ever done before.... More

Seldom will you do something on a vacation that is not only very interesting, challenging, fun, and educational, it is even possibly a life changing event in a very positive way. The Mayan Steam Lodge delivers all of that and more. It is a very intimate experience that you will share with only a few other people. Petrus was simply... More

I had no idea when scheduling my trip to Temazcal that it would be the highlight of my 5 Day Cruise. When my friend and I returned to the ship and told all who would listen about our experience at Temazcal they all wished they had shared it with us. There were some wonderful little treats and surprises that I... More
