Took a taxi to the beach from the Cruise Port. Dropped out close to gate. Nice shaded and paved walking area to beach. Mexican music playing on loud speaker - nice touch. Met by friendly worker who escorts you to chairs / umbrella - which were in good shape. Beach, itself, isn't anything special. Lots of bouncy-things in the water... More

This used to be a beautiful beach to go to. Now, don't think about it. The workers claim it is free but you must buy 10 bucks worth of food or drink apiece. If you don't, they wait for you by the exit. You are constantly being peppered to part with your money to the locals with the junk they... More

Just don't go to this beach. Too many bad things to write. This was the part of Mexico I should of stayed away from! Tip: Pay the money to go over to Tulum! If you must know, the locals there penny the tourist to death!!! We could not even stand on 'their' roped section of the beach without paying them... More

Visited this beach 14 years ago and fell in love. Spend 2 whole days there, snorkeling, beaching, eating and drinking. Was peaceful, the people were gracious, a place of dreams. This beach is one of the reasons we came back. Place is totally changed, commercialized, hawkers, beach now filled with henna tattoo hawkers, massage, etc. never even sat down, just... More

We stopped in this beach club on our bike ride one morning. The waiters were gathered in a group talking when we walked up. I smiled and said "buenos dias." Not one of them responded. They just stared at us with indifference. I asked for a lemonade and one directed me to the bar. The place was pretty so I... More

Cozumel was one of our first stops and we decided to not do any excursions and wing it by asking our cab driver to take us to a public beach! We ended up at Playa San Francisco. The cost was to spend $10.00 in food/beverage. Miguel was our server and he was amazing. He came by frequently to check on... More

We lucked out (totally by chance) by going on a Sunday. No cruise ships depositing thousands of passengers in town or on the beaches. No charge for lounges or umbrellas, just a modest food/beverage minimum. Water was great, clean beach, lots of fun water apparatus to add to the enjoyment.

We visited here on Oct 4th. It is basically the same type of place as Carlos and Charlies which is directly next door. Only Playa San Francisco (San Francisco Beach Club) has a swimming pool. The water was a little cloudy on this visit but not too bad. This is what I found out about the vendors there: You can... More

I have traveled 4 times to Cozumel; this was the first time I visited PLaya San Francisco. Yes, the water was not as clear as other beaches were, but it certainly was NOT dirty. I could still see my feet! The water toys were awesome. Beach chair and umbrella was very comfortable and very much appreciated. YEs a lot of... More
