This is a great activity if you like self-guided hikes with a historical bent and want to stray from the typical Cozumel tourist haunts. I loved it. It's not nearly as commercialized as some of the other ruins but very well kept and marked. I had a rent car so there was no time pressure, and I just hung out at the place for hours. My wife kind of tolerated my gawking at all the ruins and climbing what I could. I loved it.... more

These ruins are a great alternative (cheaper, and much shorter distance from the cruise ship terminal) to Chichen Itza. These would probably be the best ruins to visit on the island. Spent a day here, but without a guide it was difficult to enjoy the ruins. The signs weren't overly descriptive, and the ruins are rather devastated. I think it'd be interesting if one brought or hired a guide, but for just sauntering around and looking it wasn't really interesting. Lots of lizards and iguanas made the walk more fun. more
