I went to Chichen Itza in 1993 with my husband and thought it was nice. I returned with my family June 26th 2009, we rented a Jeep in Cancun and drove out, half the price of entertainment-plus for the full day. You can no longer climb the ruins which I found very disappointing. Also, there were vendors everywhere, hundreds. It... more

My wife and I booked the trip for the two of us and then at the last minute my wife decided she didn’t want to go. I think it was the three hour bus ride. She encouraged me to go without her as she felt she had lots to do at the resort we were staying at and she knew... more

These ruins are amazing. Definitely a must see. Lots of ruin sites to explore and there's also a sacrificial cenote. You cannot climb any of the ruins here. There are lots of vendors, but they only sell tourist type stuff - nothing special that you can't get anywhere else. We took the Cancun Line limo tour for 99/person (US). Nice... more

We went with the bus tour which has stands in the shops at Playacar opposite the resorts. We paid $47 each and there was only about 12 people on a bus catering for 40 so it was nicely spread out. There were actually 2 buses and when you get to chichen itza they seperate the groups into english/spanish for the... more

My sister and I rented a car in Cancun and drove to the ruins. Once there and inside we were barraged with young tour guides offerring 1 hour tours for $80 USD! We were polie and continued to refuse their aggressive and insistant offers. As we were collecting our thoughts, there was an elderly gentlemen sitting on a bench, legs... more

Chichen Itza was the only Ruin site that had the venders within the ruins. It was really quite horrible to be harassed by these people. They would follow you, stand in your way, get in front of you while taking pictures, harass my little girl of 7yrs, lady lady only one dollar, whistling at us. They had little kids, old... more

We took the ferry from Cozumel to Playa Del Carmen to meet up with Cancun Line who was our tour company for this excursion. The bus was very nice with snacks and drinks provided (including corona!) We were there during the swine flu fiasco so a lot of time was wasted picking up people from different hotels since the yucatan... more

This was truly an amazing site and the guide was excellent if you go take loads of water and a hat etc cos the heat is unbearable and you have to haggle with the sellers there but the visit is a must more

A place worth visiting inspite of the hot sun and the crowds. Find a good tour company (Entertainment-Plus can help) and have fun! Read the detailed Cancun and Chichen Itza trip report and review at http://www.chillibreeze.com/articles/Cancun.asp more

Chitzen Itza,a must see, but booked a package $99USD but expensive and a little dissappointing. Bus ride takes approx 2 and a half hours plus from any riviera maya accomodations,to get to the cenote but couldnt swim as too crowded and not enough time too wait. Mayan lunch, food ok but uninspiring. 1 and a half hour tour of Chitzen... more
