Having stayed at the top of the hotel zone we were delighted to find that we had a 10min walk to the UltraMar port of El Embarcadero. We did a day trip to Isla Mujures and a return ticket was $19 US each. The open deck boat was great for viewing, the crossing smooth (as they are catamarans) and departed... More

we could have done without the mariachi on the way to Isla Mujeres. I know they have to make a living and October is the "off" season, but please. I want to enjoy the view and not listen to mariachi and be bugged for tips.

This was our 2nd time using Ultramar ferries, modern and air conditioned or you can sit on the top deck. We did and on that day a man was playing the guitar and singing...very nice! Price wasn't bad either $146 pesos round trip.

From Isla Mujeres, we waited in line like everyone else for Playa Caracol as an employee guided and directed us to wait in a particular line. Should have triple checked with other employees. We ended up in Playa Tortugas where we had to taxi back to our hotel which was right in front of Playa Caracol. The ferry is fast... More

I took the ferry from Puerto Juarez since I had a car and there was convenient parking there. The 146 peso round trip fare seemed pretty cheap for a 20 minute fast ferry. When I returned, I found out that parking in their garage was 110 pesos (no rates posted) for a 9 hour period - be warned if you... More

Me an my partner got the Ultramar from Puerto Juarez with was not ideal for us as we had to take a bus ride and a mini bus to get there but we returned on the Ultramar to Tortugas as that is where our hotel was. The ride was nice and smooth and only took 20mins to get to the... More

I'm not sure what the competitor option for Isla Mujeres would be, but Ultramar is the same as Mexico Ferry Jets for options between Cozumel and PDC, so you really don't need to pick which is a better ferry The ferry was comfortable with AC and decent chairs. There was an enclosed area downstairs and an open air area on... More

Probably the best part of our trip was taking the Ultramar ferry to Isla Mujeures and spending the day on the island. The ferry ride itself was pleasant and beautiful. We spent a trip on the open deck and that was a great experience (not only is the scenery beautiful, but you will have entertainment also!). On the "back" trip... More
