Fairly efficient. Schedules are a bit confusing. For example, 3 different departure piers in cancun, and you might be diverted to more than one pier to pickup/drop off passengers before crossing to/from the island. Cash only for tourist transit seems foolish.

We should have planned our trip better by checking the ferry website before we just randomly headed down to take the ferry to Isla Mujeres. We didn’t know that there was more than one departure location so we got off the bus near Playa Caracol. We also should have checked the departure times, because when we arrived the next ferry... We went out of Puerto Juarez to Isla Mujures. It was a clean, fast ride that covered some of the most beautiful waters around Cancun.

We used Ultramar to travel to Isla Mujeres from Cancun. A return journey cost $17 from Playa Tortugas and operated every hour. On the outward journey we sat on the top deck, and experienced a Mariarchi singer performing for tips. Whilst this was 'interesting' to watch (especially the dancing), we kind of got the impassion that tips were mandatory as... More

Took Ultramar round-trip Cancun to Isla Mujeres - it's very fast! Boats came when scheduled and the staff was very helpful when we missed the boat we wanted - they suggested another boat that got us back very quickly.

Great round trip to isla mujeres for the day 16$ use from morning til 530 pm. Clean, on time and enough room for a boat load of travelers. Will use again. Enjoyed the air conditioned cabin below both ways, and clean bathrooms to change after a day at the beach.

These ferries are fast, clean and modern. The other ferry companies have older and slower vessels. I recommend that if you go to Isla Mujeres that you take your swimming trunks. A lot of people do this because Isla has one of the best beaches in the world. The water is crystal clear and very calm.

This service is worth money spent. It is well organized, however be prepared that if you are travelling at peak hours (like it was for us on Saturday afternoon) you may wait an hour in line although service is scheduled every half an hour. The line up is formed on the "first come - first serve" bases and capacity of... More

We inadvertently bought tickets for the other ferry to Isla Mujeres on the "Isla Mujeres Ferry" it was horrible, slow and the the workers beyond rude. Even tho we purchased a round trip we threw thew return tics away and bought a one way return on the Ultramar. It was honestly three times faster...and I mean three times. They left... More

Best way to get to Isla. The staff is nice and the ferry is quick and easy. Definitely take a day trip to Isla, well worth the visit.
