We stayed at the Hard Rock Riviera in Cancun. The tour bus picked us up at the hotel, cost was $156.00 U.S. although it was a three hour ride the bus was equipped with a couple of restrooms, they handed out free water, and free Mexican pastries called Conchas, our tour guide(s) were very well spoken and shared about the... They pick you up early at your hotel in a VERY tight fitting van. I'm 6' and my knees were in the back of the seat in front of me. We then get shuddled to another location down the road and get on a tour bus that is just as tight in space. The first stop is a "mayan village"... More

Chichen Itza was a 2.5 hour drive from our resort in Puerto Morales, which is between Cancun and Playa Del Carmen. We drove our rental car and found the ruins to be worth the trip. If you decide to go, you must go with the understanding that you will be seeing ancient ruins and not an attraction. The structures at... More

My family and I ventured to Chichen Itza via Viators, which was a great experience. Our tour guide, Carlos Mo, who is Mayan spoke both in English and Spanish for our group of 15 people. We appreciated the small group as it was easier to stay together and navigate around the larger group from other tours. The drive from Cancun... More

We took the Viator exclusive tour which means we were the first people at the ruins. It also means we got picked up from our hotel in Playa del Carmen at 4:10 am, were driven to Cancun to board a bus which then drove right back to Playa del Carmen on the way to Chichen Itza. What should have been... More

This is a must see when you are in Cancun try to take your time to check out all the historic site. One thing I didn't like was all the vendors trying to sell you chinese made stuff. It was also very hot so bring water. It is a long ride but worth it.

We received a deal on this tour through our Cancun hotel. It worked out to be about 2 for 1. We did not realize the tour would involve so much driving! The total time was 13 hours. We visited a cenote/tequila factory, a mock Mayan town for lunch, chichen itza, and a stop in a small town for a few... More
