We recently visited Playa Tortugas in March 2014. My husband and his friend took the challenge and bungee jumped at the beach! What a great experience for the both of them! Staff were great! We had a great time at Playa Tortugas having a drink and some appetizers at a local restaurant right on the beach. Water was warm, beach... More

Playa Tortugas is a small section of the beach that seems to be preferred by the local crowd. Not much in terms of shopping or sightseeing, but a great place to have a good lunch and for crowd watching. It can get busy on a weekend, and being the only tourist in the area is a bit intimidating. Have a... More

We ate at the Restaurante Familia Playa Tortugas and had a very nice meal of local Mexican fare and seafood dishes. The do blast some load music, but the crowd is mostly locals, which tells you the food is local and good. Service was excellent. If you end up in the Playa for some reason and are looking for a... Good luck with fighting for a space on this two metre thick wafer thin slice of a beach. If you want to be hastled by people trying to sell you weed, drinks or tours at regular five minute intervals all afternoon, then this is the beach for you. This was the only place in the whole of our Yucatan Penisula... More

We wanted to take a day and go over to Isla Mujuras. We rode the bus there for a dollar a piece and bought round trip ferry tickets there for $17 US dollars. The beach has no waves but is nice to cool off in waiting for the ferry. We were told that if we wanted to sit at a... More

Had a lot of fun bungee jumping at Playa Tortugas. The beach is very calm and beautiful here too. Food and drinks, jetskiing, boat cruise, etc all you can ask for. Highly recommended.

nor really the kind of beach that some one will visit during a holiday, the sand is almost all gone, wáter is still nice but people around are not so nice nor is easy to go in the wáter and leave your stuff on the sand as there are lots of people that seem to lose their belongings quite often.

Playa Tortugas is in the northern hotel zone of Cancun, but is more of a "locals" beach than a pristine tourist beach like you see farther down the coast. Rugged rocks line the coastline, making it an interesting diversion from your average beach. Folks are content to settle in amongst the nooks and crannies for an enjoyable day in the... More

I am writing this REVIEW so everyone who visits or stops by la playa de tortuga which is on the main rd on the hotelera (hotel)zone next to riu hotels. Avoid the tour sellers located right in front on the main parking for this beach, next to a mini-super-tortugas store. I purchased two vouchers for the B.O.B underwater activity and... More
