The idea behind the Jardin de Orquideas, JOM, in its simplest form, is to maintain for future generations a small sampling of the vast and varied lifeblood of Mexico's living natural wonders. As of January 2008, the collection has over 1800 rescued plants with 350 species. The collections data base has over 3300 entries of the epiphytes of Chiapas.
The Jardin is open Wednesday to Sunday 10am till dark. Entrance is free a donation is appreciated if one enjoys and cares to help this very worthwhile project.
