I spent a week in Oaxaca, Mexico and had a private guide named Roberto Gavidia. I would highly recommend him. He and his wife picked me up at the airport and I set the schedule of what I wanted to do each day. Best, he brought me to and I personally met the local artisans in the surrounding area. I... More

Friends who live near Oaxaca recommended Luis Ramirez (toursinoax@gmail.com) to us several years ago, and we have thoroughly appreciated his guide service and his company ever since. Luis is knowledgeable, hard-working, flexible, and kind; his English gets better every year; and he is very patient with my limited Spanish. He does an excellent job of balancing the tedious parts of... More

Judy and I would like to add our experience to the many who have shared their's regarding Luis and the Oaxaca area.We found Luis on Trip Advisor and were very happy we did. We hired Luis to take us to sights and markets for 2 days. Our first day to Monte Alban and more. The second day was a tour... More

My girlfriend and I had a very memorable time at the Sunday markets featuring a Pan de Fiesta, visiting a master weaver who welcomed us into his families home, and also seeing El Arbol de Tule - a 2,000 year old Montezuma tree. We were visiting Oaxaca as part of a wedding party and all of our friends said they... More

I was in Oaxaca by myself and had very nice private tour with J. Antonio Moctezuma Garcia (+52 1951 162 9521/ FB page "Tours in Oaxaca"). He speaks English fluently, is absolutely reliable, always on time and adjusts to your wishes. He got a great sense of humour and is a pleasant person to hang around with whole day.

Another vote for Luis Ramirez [toursinoax@gmail.com). Fast email response, knowledgeable, pleasant, excellent English, reasonable rates. We spent 2 days with him, traveling to ruins, markets, and artisan shops. Ate well, too.

I found Luiz (toursinoax@gmail.com) here on TripAdvisor. I emailed him, and within 2 hours I had a whole day planned in Oaxaca. He picked me up from my hotel in his comfortable air conditioned vehicle. We explored everywhere there was to see in Oaxaca. If your looking for an educational, interesting tour of the city, as well as the surrounding... More

Not being familiar with the area we felt having a tour guide would only enhance our experience. We did our research and found (guide@discover-Oaxaca.com) a family business run by Suzanne and Benito. They have years of experience (Benito was born in Oaxaca) and their goal is to fulfill their clients dreams and make it an amazing experience. They both have... More

We just returned from our annual visit to Oaxaca for Day of the Dead celebrations. Several times we were asked about our guide and driver so I thought I share my recommendation. If you want an English and Spanish speaking driver/tour guide while in Oaxaca, I give a five-star recommendation for Luis Rameriz at toursinoax@gmail.com. If you’re exploring any of... More
