I've studied Spanish in many big cities and little towns. I always look for professional teachers, good methods, and appropriate activities, depending on someone's level. They have to have a positive and creative environment. This met all of my needs. The teachers are experienced, professional, friendly and patient! They're well prepared and the extra field trips were also well planned.... More

We spent only a week studying Spanish at Oaxaca International School and made amazing progress in that brief time. Our teachers were extremely helpful and patient. In classes of two hours, with a maximum of four students each, the time just flew by. In a smaller, more intimate school such as this, there was much more opportunity for interaction and assistance... Great approach to Spanish classes. We decided to sign up for 4 hours a day. First 2 hours spent on grammar and workbook excercises, last 2 hours spent on developing conversation skills. Loved the fact that we had 2 different teachers to work with, fun to mix it up! 2 excursions a week are included at no additional cost, thought... More

My husband and I spent four weeks studying at Oaxaca International and had a fulfilling experience. Ileana, the administrator of the school, arranged a home stay for us ahead of time and the family picked us up at the airport late on a Sunday evening. We arrived at school and took a brief placement test. When it became apparent that... More

The Special Christmas Program was great value for four weeks and my home-stay family worked out well! Class size was small and there was lots of personal attention. The school facilities are basic, but I appreciated the famiiy-like atmosphere, and the twice-weekly special cultural excursions are all included. The Grammar review based on their own workbook materials was very good,... More

I've been speaking Spanish for a while now and try to get to Latin America every year to brush up. While there, I often enroll in courses at different schools and this year I chose Oaxaca International. Finding teachers that meet my needs at a more advanced level of Spanish can be challenging, but Oaxaca International did a superb job... More

My husband and I just completed a one week Spanish class and really enjoyed it. The school was small and teachers very friendly and knowledgeable. I was a beginner with no previous Spanish and came away with many Spanish words and phrases and a very basic understanding of the Spanish grammar. My husband's Spanish improved during the week and is... More

Classes were small. Teachers were good and very nice. Course planned well. Able to meet you right where you are. The excursions were great too - everything you want to see in the area on behind the scenes type (small group) tours. Also did a great homestay through them. Ileana is helpful and flexible and knowledgeable and professional and warm!... More

Overall, the school was a great experience and a fantastic value. The school was a tight knit community with good teachers and the included excursions were terrific. The price was cheaper than the other schools, yet the school was rated excellent on TripAdvisor and was, indeed, very good.

I have just completed three weeks at Oaxaca International, and am very happy with my experience here. I have studied in 3 different places - and this place holds up really well. My home stay was great as was the instruction. This school comfortably and professionally handles students of all ages, and Ileana is always ready to do whatever she... More
