Why 'almost all'? If your preference is for more formal schooling, and/or smartly-equipped classrooms or spacious college-style campuses, this might not be for you. But it would be a pity, for you would miss the genuinely friendly welcome, care and customised attention that you receive here. The teaching/learning plan is sound, and flexible so that you go at your own... More

My husband and I studied Spanish here for 2 weeks in January 2012. We really enjoyed it. The owners, Eleana and Augusto are very patient teachers and very giving of their time. This is a small school, centrally located, where likely there will only be 2 or 3 students per class. They give you a written test at the beginning... More

My spanish language abilities improved dramatically at this language school and I was in a class with one other person. The grammar class also gave us plenty of time to speak. The instructors were very friendly and included lessons about the culture in Mexico and Oaxaca. My class level was intermediate. I enjoyed the free excursions held by the school... More

I spent the month of December, 2011, in Oaxaca and attended Oaxaca International Spanish School which I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to study in a small school with a very friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Classes are small and if you are lucky, (as I was), you may end up with one-on-one instruction! Ileana and Augusto, owners and teachers, are... More

I recently traveled to Oaxaca with my two children ages 8 and 13. I searched for a local school and I stumbled across Oaxaca International. Calling from the US to arrange classes and lodging seemed a bit intimidating because I did not know what to expect but Ileana (who is the director and one of the teachers)called and emailed prior... This was a great school, very central so easy to find and walking distance for most visitors. They have small classes which are perfect if you're keen on learning. The classes are great - very good, very patient and encouraging teachers, and you can learn in a genuinely friendly environment - like learning with friends but with better teaching skills!... More

I studied at Oaxaca International for 2 weeks over the Día de los Muertos festival. I had a great experience and highly recommend this school to anyone serious about learning Spanish whilst also wanting to experience the culture of Oaxaca. Most importantly, the quality of teaching was outstanding. The lessons were flexible and individual attention was given to all students,... More

This is a small school and hence, very personalized. My husband and I, who are at two different levels (advanced beginner and intermediate) had each of our needs addressed. We were in different classes and class size varied during our week from one in the class to four in the class. Students of many ages, from 4 years old to... More

I just got back from 2 weeks of Spanish classes at Oaxaca International where I had a great experience! Ileana and Augusto helped me improve my grammar and gain confidence in my conversation skills while at the same time making 4 hours of daily class time fly by. In addition, they took us on excursions around the city to learn... More

I am currently living in Oaxaca and had the opportunity to take a couple weeks to study and improve my Spanish. I chose Oaxaca International based on the recommendation of two coworkers who had studied at a couple different Spanish schools in Oaxaca. However, even without there recommendation I might have chosen this school, if only because it seems to... More
