I studied 5 days with Maria Elena and Estaban. They helped me improve my Spanish and I had fun doing it. I would recommend this school to any skill level student. Rogelio is flexible in setting up a program to suit anybody's needs.

I was in Oaxaca for a week only, and knew almost no Spanish. Rogelio was super polite and efficient when I contacted him by email the night before. He picked me up from the Park on Pino Suarez and was friendly but only spoke in Spanish, to help immerse yourself straight away. My 3 hours lessons were with Miriam, who... More

This is definitely the place for people who need completely accomodating schedules for classes while on travel. I've never seen someone run a business so efficiently and so customized to clients' needs. And my teacher Mari was an absolute joy, supremely professional, at ease adapting an instruction plan to a high level of proficiency with themes around Day of the... More

We had a week at amigos del sol and it was very very good! For group lesson prices we got individual lessons. The teachers were very freindly and the lessons well structured and focused on our individual needs. We spend time practising in the school as well in the city, at the lokal market etc. We had so much fun!... More

Amigos del Sol is a wonderful Spanish school with fantastic teachers. I started with very little Spanish and now feel much more confident to speak to others. My teacher was extremely patient and able to encourage me to open up and speak despite being so self conscious about how terrible my Spanish was. Now every time I take class I... More

I have attended language schools in Mexico, Spain, Argentina and Switzerland, Instituto Amigos del Sol was absolutely the best language immersion school experience I have had. The staff was friendly and very helpful in every regard. My Spanish language program was personalized and matched exactly to my level and my needs. I stayed with a host family that was arranged... I have traveled many places in the world and have written many reviews. This is my second time to Amigos del Sol. I continue to be extremely happy with this school, Rogelio and the excellent teachers. Oaxaca has many treasures which include some magnificent historical sites, people and schools. One of the treasures of Oaxaca is this school. Should you... More

I just saw a review speculating that all the good reviews of Amigos del Sol were in some way faked. I am a first time reviewer, here to say great things about Amigos del Sol because, simply, working with them was one of the best experiences I've had while traveling, and one of the first times that I've actually felt... I knew very little Spanish going into the classes and after 8 days lessons both in the classroom, market and touring I am a lot more confident getting around by myself. Everything I learnt was specific to my needs...ie directions, accomodation, buying items from markets and shops. Maree was so patient and enthusiastic, she really enjoys helping others. The whole... We booked for a week but stayed for two! Our time each day was split between 2 excellent teachers which was good as it kept it fresh. Rogelio, the director, really wants you to learn as much as possible while you are there and will suggest less time (and so less money for him) if he thinks that will be... More
