I visited Oxaca several years ago. We visited Monte Alban and other ancient ruins surrounding the city. The city itself is also remarkably beautiful to visit. The town square is surrouned with nice restaurants for lunch. Be sure to visit the Rufino Tamayo home and museum. The buildings in the historic district are painted in beautiful pastels and many streets... more

The size of this tree is absolutely jaw-dropping, especially the trunk. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Oaxaca City, just take a local bus to the village. Don't be too late since you won't get close to the tree after the gates close at 7pm. Personally I think this nature's miracle was just an interesting visit as the Monte... more
