I am from Oaxaca and everytime I go back home always make a trip to this market to enjoy 'nieve de leche quemada con tuna' - ice cream of milk and tuna. I usually buy it at 'Chaguita' There is plenty of typical food, including sweets (e.g. 'chicoatole' and 'menguanitos', Oaxaca-style cheese, chocolate, bread, 'chapulines', 'tlayudas', etc. There are also... more

Best Market ever. Whether you enjoy shopping, browsing or just taking in the culture Mercado de Benito Juarez is a must visit. Haggling is a lot of fun once you get good at it and the stall owners are very friendly. you can get lost easy in the maze of shops so use different stalls for landmarkers to find your... more
