This is a cultural experience that I truly find interesting. Our first matadora was gored. It was pretty dang harrowing to watch. Then she returned and was gored again. She was a newby, bless her heart. I saw her in the newspaper a few days later in the newspaper and she was sitting up in the photo, smiling, so I... More

One of the highlight's of our trip, however, if you are an animals right's activist, don't go. Accept that this is tradition there and you will enjoy it. The matadors can get quite entertaining with their antics and the crowds and people watching are enjoyable as well. Plenty of beer, drinks and snacks for sale throughout - you will not... More

Wow, what a spectator experience! We went the only time of the season where female matadors are featured on December 28th, 2014. Unfortunately the first matador was hit/trampled three times. After being trampled the first time, she was carried out by a group of men. Then the bull charged the group as they carried her out, thus getting hit the... More

This is one of the premier bull fight venues in the world. Don't go unless you read about this sport, and understand a little. The animal rights comments on this forum are silly, of course, but reflect the propensity of tourists to visit sites or events without doing some background research. It's like visiting Chapultepec without knowing that a young... More

We attended a spectacle in September of 2013. Both of us had been looking forward to this event. Bullfighting is a cultural aspect of the country. I understand that people who against this, however I believe everything we have and everything we do is to the disadvantage of every other life form in some way. You can go crazy thinking... More

my husband was curious to see this so we decided to attend a bullfighting session. Wasn't sure what to expect. The first half hour it was fascinating and scary. These matadors really put their lives at risk. It was. It was interesting to see the folks who come here and their reactions to the game. For them it was definitely... More

Many people consider bullfight as cruel an inhuman so, if you think that way, this is obviously not a place for you. If you are curious about bullfight but not acquainted with it you may find it interesting for the first half an hour and utterly boring after that. La fiesta starts at 16:30 sharp. You are not allowed to... More

Yesterday we attended the bullfight at the Plaza Mexico, the largest (seating capacity) bull ring in the world. One might ask why a civilized fellow like myself would go to the bullfight. I don’t like to kill things…I don’t hunt or fish and I scoop up bugs and throw them outside. For me, the bull fight has little to do... More
