This fort/castle/palace is surprisingly beautiful! it has an extensive museum of exhibits related to Mexico's conflicts for independence as well as exhibits related to the opulence of some of the living conditions for past heads of state. It also offers spectacular views of Mexico City More

I would make plans on visiting the castle. Before you get to the castle, there is a very pleasant walk to the top. Lots to see in the castle and a there is very nice museum included. More

Amazing - and to think of the labour that went into building this incredible European castle is just mind-boggling. More

This is a very rich castle with all the furniture and dishes, glasses and cutlery of Maximilien and Carlotta. The walk is long going up to the castle unless the little train is functioning More

- Don't miss this. It's a walk through Mexico's colonial and revolutionary past. I learned so much about Mexico. - Beautiful, if long, walk up to the castle. I don't recommend taking the tram up just because the walk up is so nice. - Go in the morning or late afternoon to avoid the lines (which can be very long).... More

This is probably the most beautiful spot in all of Mexico City. The view is terrific, the murals are just stunning and the gardens are impeccable. It is an amazing place and a must-see for everyone liking arts. More

I wouldn't discourage anyone from visiting the Castillo, but am surprised it is the third highest rating in Mexico City. The views of the city are good, but there are a number of places in town with equal of superior views. The gardens are nice, but small and unspectacular. As castles go, the building is average. The history is definitely... More
