One way to deal with the fact that the D.F.'s museums are all closed is to declare "Murals Monday," and visit all the magnificent murals in the government buildings in the Centro. They are all free and seeing them all at once gives one a concentrated sense of the patriotic fervor which gripped these ironically wealthy socialist artists in the... More

Never crowded. A lot of time and space to admire DIego Rivera and his murals. There is a certain magic in this place do to the fact that probably, he spend a lot of time here. I can see him diving in the colors and the history line he was going to follow.

If you are a fan of Diego Rivera murals - do not miss this place at 28 Agentina Calle, it is wonderful. Once you get signed in, you can wander to two courtyards and the three floors, without any crowds and admire the hundred or so Diego Rivera murals. Plus the murals of the coat of arms of the different... More

The entrance is just off the Plaza de Santo Domingo. All you do is sign in and a guard will take you to the murals- three floors of them. We went on a Monday and it was us and Rivera. What a treat! The murals are in great condition and you can spend hours drinking them in. We even got... More

The Ministry of Education is often overlooked by visitors in favor of Palacio Nacional. I would suggest not missing either if you are interested in Mexican history and the work of Diego Rivera but if I had to choose only one site, it would be the Ministry of Education. I particularly like the political nature of the murals here and... More
