Building is beatiful, really. The place has a taste of Hispanic golden age (we had some felling in San José / Costa Rica city center). Mural paintings are interesting, but unless you are communist fanatic you will have some troubles with the artistic message. We understood it was a special political context the 20's-30' in Mexico. Go to the 8th... More

This was a great museum to get through in less than 2 hours. Some interesting exhibits, some of it modern art, some more interesting modern exhibits, not sure I'd call it art, but interesting pop culture etc. Very inexpensive (MXN 25). More

This museum is big enough to feel like you've gotten your money's worth but small enough to see in just a few hours. "Two Fridas" alone is worth the trip. Other highlights are Diego Rivera's "Paisaje nocturno," Ángel Zarraga's "Alegoría de septiembre," It's pleasant to stroll in the garden, which has an array of different sculptures. Admission is free on... More

On Sunday you have free entrance, while the rest of the week you should pay $22 Mexican pesos (full price) but you can get discounts if you are student, professor, elderly/senior citizens. During my visit the set of exhibitions was ambitious. One of the main exhibitions was dedicated to Mexican contemporary design, really interesting! I was surprised on the variety... More

Although this time we could not view all the collection, as first floor was closed, we enjoyed the Remedios Varos paintings as well as temporary exhibits. Sculpture garden needs urgent manteinance. More

I enjoyed my visit today - there were English translations in some exhibits and the people were very friendly. There were some exhibits closed but I was happy with the special exhibit on el grupo and the typography area. More

This museum would be worth seeing just for the "Two Fridas" painting. If you are at all interested in Frida Kahlo this painting is a spiritual experience; if you don't know her, you should visit Casa Azul right after this museum. There are other remarkable paintings by Siquieros, Orozco and Rivera but for me the most amazing surprise was a... More
