A very beautiful main campus. I really enjoyed walking up the stairs to the main building. It's worth a visit if you are in the city.

Fortunate to catch a couple of great art exhibits by Oregon's Rick Bartow and some amazing Japanese draftsman whose name escapes me...

Just kidding. Try not to disturb the university students and professors at the place, but if you can't help but getting your sweat on at this history university and landmark of the city of Guanajuato, I dare you to jog up the iconic stairs that lead to the front door of the place.

The ground floor galleries are fantastic! They have a specimen museum in the basement with animals and birds native to the area. I walked around the university during the day and admired the architecture and history. There's a telescope on the roof that's open to the public each clear night from 7-9. Loved this university.

My hotel, El Meson de los Poetas, was just a short distance away from the university and so I passed by several times in my three day stay. This is the "old" part of the University, but what stunning architecture. Many times the steps were half full of young people sitting, talking, studying and I´m sure enjoying the magnicifent view.... The Steps and the architecture are wonderful! On one of my recent trips to GJO I had the pleasure of walking up the impressive stairs that lead up to the University. It makes you almost imagine that you are walking in Imperial Rome or something ... really nice building.
