Protesters are not allowed at the university, but we got to see a few on the steps dof the university. The architecture is beautiful, you wont miss it as you walk through town.

We reached after 4 pm on the first day and hence, it was closed. Main building closes for tourists at 4pm. So, keep this in mind. It is a huge, green cantera stone picturesque building with impressive Moorish architecture. The world-famous Cervantino Festival of Guanajuato, one of the finest festivals of performing arts, was started by this university. Students of... More

The steps are beautiful for views and exersize but use the opportunity to walk inside, watch the old library and the museum, art exhibitions, the old fantastic doors and architecture, the wandering students and professors, Sometimes they show movies and other activities for free that may be of interest, and if you speak some spanish people are more than willing... The famous steps of the university are so glorious that with every step it feels as though you are getting closer to heaven! I would definitely recommend going there! it is a close walk from the Hidalgo theater and a close walk from the basilica and a close walk from the kiss alley. In other words, it is close to... More

I saw lots of advertisements for Language courses. That was something that was of interest to me. But I was only a vacationer with a few days here. This city is so fascinating. The former river beds which are now a maze of roadways intrigued me and also got me lost. But the view from the long steps of the... More

I arrived with a college class, we ranged in age from 20-60 yrs of age. We toured the school briefly, but it was nice to see students walking about, studying. The campus also had a nighttime showing of a horror show, avail for a small fee. We sat on the university stairs and watched on, outdoors as classmates cheered. I... More

We climbed to the top of the famous staircase at this university. It was a nice climb, and at the top are nice views of the city. You can see Al Pipila at the top of the mountain from here. Lots of people, students and locals alike, come to sit, chat, and snack here on the stairs. Very pretty architecture!
