We visited this beautiful site on a Thursday just before noon and saw only three other visitors in all the time we were there. This is truly a beautiful, peaceful attraction and well worth visiting. Unfortunately on our visit we asked for a guide but never did find one. After reading the reviews about how the guides enhanced the tour,... More

Decided to check this out based on reviews I had seen on trip advisor! This placed lived up to the hype. The gardens are all very nice, and was a nice quiet, short trip out of the hustle and bustle of the city!

This site has been well maintained and has most of its decorations and furniture which makes it all very interesting to see. The guide spoke English very well and had a good story to recite. Be sure to take one of the local guides. The gardens are well worth a walk around.

This has got to be my favorite place in the whole city, peaceful, beautiful and magical. It is a trip back in time it is beautifully preserved and its history is fascinating. Just walking thru its many gardens is a joy. You will walk a little but it will be worth it, The hacienda has several modern amenities for the... More

the house and gardens are very well maintained. The house is full of interesting household things from 300 years ago.

Colonial home with exhibition of furniture of different styles/eras/countries. Delightful gardens with pergolas, fountains. Refreshment area, clean toilets. Irregular bus, but taxi was only 45 pesos.

We paid a nominal tip to our wonderful guide Carlos, who gave us an English language tour of this fascinating and tranquil former 16th century Hacienda (the house itself). There is a lot of cultural history embedded in the informal tour. If you go here, use the guide. But the gardens alone are also worth the short trip and admissions... More

Loved this view into history. The gardens are lovely but learning about the working Hacienda and how they refined gold and silver was most interesting. Spies from the Catholic Church and from the Spanish royalty made sure enough got back to Spain. Tour guide made all the difference with explanatory if not scandalous stories.

As others wrote, the gardens alone are worth the visit, but it would be a pity not to visit the XVIIth century house. And if you do, go with one of the guides! we took the tour (in English), and it was both instructive and entertaining. My favourite place in the Guanajuato area. Oh, and while you're there, visit the... More

We visited with two teenage boys and went ahead and use one of the private guides, One special thing about this area is the guy just ask you to tip them at the data set price. Really enjoyed the tour the grounds are beautiful. If I had planned better I would've visited the museum Gene Byron which is also in... More
