This is a two story museum near the center of town. It is largely ignored in guidebooks. It is housed in an old mansion and is soley devoted to depictions of Don Quixote; in oil paintings, water colors, sculpture, fugurines, etc. Includes a Dali and a Picasso. We visited the Don Quixote Iconographic Museaum in Guanajuato and found it to contain many interesting and entertaining works of art related to the fictional hero. It's definately worth a visit if you are in Guanajuato, where we unfortunately only had a few hours to visit. I will spend an entire day in the city the next time we go.... more

Came across the museum while walking around guanajuato and decided to go in (it was free). The variety of work in the museum was fascinating. I found myself enjoying it a lot. The mural and ceramic room wasn't as interesting, but I really liked the paintings. I would only have paid up to 5 dollars to see this museum... but... more
