It's a beautiful exterior (and I especially enjoyed the contrast with some of the modern art across the street). But I felt a bit disappointed. After reading all the reviews here I was expecting more.

A very short distance from the Dickinson house was this church that we had to see. It took over 100 years to build, but is all the same style unlike the central cathedral downtown. We liked this better. A must see!

Be sure to visit this cathedral in downtown Guadalajara, the architecture is very impressive especially for its style, it only took over 70 years to complete. Be sure to find the all seeing eye watching you. The Illuminati influence is deep with this structure, make sure to thank the masons who built it.

One of the most beautiful buildings I've been to. The clock with the little people that go around is very nice too.

Ive been in Guadalajara several times, and i Always like to visit the Expiatorio to admire a great marvel. I like to listen to the music played from the bells at 3-6- and 9pm.Where the little "apostoles" came out from the bell tower. This is a fantastic place to visit, very close to guadalajara Downtown ( 15 min by walk)

The architecture is beautiful, the location is very traditional and the church is grandiose - solemn and a beautiful place to spend hours of thought and serenity or just to wander and look at the fantastic architecture and scupltures. Must see.

Sometimes a place in Tripadvisor gets stuck at #1 when any objective observer who had to rank the top 10 places would never chose the location as #1. This is clearly an example. It is a nice enough church but less spectacular than the cathedral and the overall collection of sites around the cathedral. It is not even close. The... More

Beautiful architecture, with stunning stained glass windows and light fixtures. Fresh flowers along the aisles when I visited on a Saturday morning. The clock tower was impressive, as eleven apostles paraded out and in of the tower as the clock rang 11 am. It actually took about ten minutes for the entire signaling of the hour.

The neo-gothic church is nice, but the real attraction is the plaza in front of it and the wonderful scene that unfolds there every weekend. The plaza turns into a combination open air public dance class/outdoor concert hall/multi-stall village of food stands (cheap and good) and flea market (books, jewelry, unique health products etc.) Families with kids, young people, older... I didn't have a lot of time in Guadalajara so took a cab to this most amazing building. The glass windows are so, so beautiful. The built in is well cared for and I wish I could return on a Sunday as there is a huge pipe organ in the gallery. This is the most impressive gothic church I've seen... More
