Very interesting if you want to learn about the history of the region. From nomadic people traveling through to sedentary civilizations that built a life in Mexico.

We did not know what to expect but found many different types of exhibits covering subjects such as the war struggles for removal of some governments and revisions to the laws. Also some exhibits on native crafts. Rooms full of paintings of Christian/Catholic images. Again, all signs and descriptions are in Spanish so bring your translation dictionary. Free entry, as... A nice museum in the downtown area of Gualdajara, in Jalisco state of Mexico. It is situated close to the iconic Cathrdral and exhibits include political, art and native objects, including from pre-historic times. A must see place if you want to appreciate the local history and heritage. Bring your own bottle of water, because the walk inside can be... More

A lovely museum situated in downtown Guadalajara. Set over two floors this museum is in an old colonial style building and contains a variety of exhibits native to Jalisco covering agriculture, palaeontology, political/local history, art, indigenous groups and more. All in all the exhibits are good but not very extensive by any means but it is still well worth a... More

Location and property of the museum are great. But be aware, if you are planning to go with a baby they do not allow you to use a stroller either to use a backpack. So I had to hold my baby in one hand. In the other hand I had to hold a bag containing all his urgently needed belongings... More

The main floor houses an interesting display of artifacts and relics dating back to prehistoric times. The old stone steps leading to the second floor add to the ambiance of the museum. I really enjoyed the art and statues on the second floor. The location of the museum is awesome as there are plazas, fountains and cute little shops close... More

Nice museum downtown with evidences from pre-history, ancient ceramics from Maya and other indian cultures, and some samples from Wixárica. It tells a little bit of Guadalajara's roots. I wish there was more things to see. Negative point: not allowed to take pictures with a proper camera (you are supposed to pay 40 pesos fee to do so). Just allowed... More

Good for a quick view of some local curiousities and crafts. A little dusty... not a bright or modern place like many big cities, and no real focus. Fossils, pots, art, a bit of history.
