I visited Panteon de Belen with my Fiance without any prior knowledge of this cemetery or it's history! I have to say that the tour guide was top knotch! He was very excellent because I was the only English speaker in the tour group, he would translate and tell the history and stories in english after he explained in spanish.... More

Every city has its own ghosts stories, and Guadalajara is not the exception, but in particular you should attend to the night visits in the "Panteon de Belen"

The Panteón is being repaired, especially to even walking surfaces. I lucked out today and found a docent who was willing to explain some of the history from near the gate, and when friends of another docent arrived for a tour, I was invited to join the little group. It was one of the most comprehensive and informative cemetery tours... More

a really beautiful place, lots of interesting graves and niches, lots of horror stories to be heard during the guided tours.

What a wonderful adventure. Tour this historical cemetery - by day or night. Be sure to take a translator though. The cemetery is rich with history - including a story of a vampire. It is NOT scary. I'll be going back in the day during my next trip.

Only not sure if they have tours in English. Worth researching!!!! Otherwise, just go with a Spanish speaking friend.

I enjoy very old cemeteries. This one is a great one. There are others-less commercialized, and free of charge- but it is easier to get to for the downtown tourist.

The night tour of this historic graveyard is worth the time and small fee. Our tour Guide was well informed and quick to respond to questions

No longer taking new entrants but they have tours (day and night) to take you through the cemetery and give a history of times past. Somewhat run-down in places due to the age but you are able to see how spectacular it must have been a hundred and more years ago.

I have to say this was one of my favorite attractions in Guadalajara. It is an old cemetery that was built in 1848 and is full of legends, folklore and is very beautiful! It has been converted into a museum and they offer free guided tours (in Spanish of course). I read up on many of the legends beforehand so... More
