When walking the streets of Cuernavaca, one sees much of the charm of this town. The narrow streets and colorfully painted buildings are what one hopes to see when visiting Mexico. It is also one of those rare towns where the cathedral isn't on the town's main plaza or zocalo. From the Palacio de Cortes, one has an excellent view... More

The space is very well preserved... the old colonial buildings are wonderful, the interior has a mixed decoration of modern and old wall paintings, describing the story of SAn Felipe de Jesus a mexican saint who was killed in Japan in the XVI century. The Sunday mass, is famouse for its marchi band. More

You can visit many colorful and beautiful churches in Mexico. This cathedral is not one of them. It is the history that might draw you inside and do notice the skull and crossbones over the main entryway. You can easily get the feel that it was built partly as a fortress back in the 1500s. The cathedral is actually one... More

Some interesting naif murals on the walls depicting the martyrdom of St. Felipe de Jesus in various stages of conservation. We were treated to a gut-booming concert when we were there, from the...
