Our daughter booked a class for her family, my husband and me as my birthday treat. It was a delightful morning, shopping and tasting at the farmer's market then helping to prepare ceviche, tiritas, and fish tacos. Monica is very informative and personable. We enjoyed it very much.

My wife and I really enjoyed our few hours understanding Mexican food and cooking with Monica. The tour of the farmers market was excellent, with the opportunity to try lots of different food we hadn't eaten before. The cooking itself is in the back of her restaurant/ cafe. Monica took us through the preparing and cookery of Mexican beans, tortillas,... More

We had the luck to experience a cooking class with Monica even though it is Low Season right now and let us tell you: if you happen to be in Zihuatanejo, DO IT! It was simply amazing. Monica is such a fun and loving person and really wants you to enjoy and get to know the real mexican cooking and... More

While on vacation, let's do something special. Not just tanning! A great way to support the local community, especially in areas where tourism is the main income way, is to enjoy a cooking class like this with Monica and go shopping, tasting, exploring at the farmers market and at the shops which mainly offer local products. In Zihuatenejo, besides lots... More

Charming, easy, and fun! Ceviche and fresh fish tacos from fish we caught the day before! $350 MD ($22 US) per person and worth every penny. You can make requests and choose from a list of pre-selected cooking courses.

Monica demonstrated and had us help her prepare tortilla soup and enchiladas. Monica has a great way with people and kept us entertained and fed. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

I've learned to make Chilis Relennos from scratch with Monica and that means roasting the chilis over an open fire and grinding the spices in a mortar and pestle. This is the way Monica's grandmother taught her and the way she teaches. (I don't think I can spell these chilis properly but I sure can make them). My favorite class... More

My husband and I and two other couples completely enjoyed the trip to the market and the cooking class with Monica. She took us to numerous little local stores on the way to the market and back and the market itself. At each stop she explained the various traditional Mexican ingredients and many of the vendors gave us samples. We... More
