Monica demonstrated and had us help her prepare tortilla soup and enchiladas. Monica has a great way with people and kept us entertained and fed. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

I've learned to make Chilis Relennos from scratch with Monica and that means roasting the chilis over an open fire and grinding the spices in a mortar and pestle. This is the way Monica's grandmother taught her and the way she teaches. (I don't think I can spell these chilis properly but I sure can make them). My favorite class... More

My husband and I and two other couples completely enjoyed the trip to the market and the cooking class with Monica. She took us to numerous little local stores on the way to the market and back and the market itself. At each stop she explained the various traditional Mexican ingredients and many of the vendors gave us samples. We... More

For a completely unique experience take a cooking class with Monica. Our threesome (Hubby, sister and I) took Monica's Chiles Rellenos class. We learned to make this delicious traditional Mexican dish in Monica's courtyard. Surrounded by palms and swaying bamboo trees, Monica took us through the preparation process step by step with lots of hands on time. We learned to... More

I went on a market visit trip with Monica, followed by a lunch of cactus salad, beans and home made tortillas at her home. The market visit was great - we sampled lots of fruits and prepared foods. Monica knew many of the vendors and took time to explain what we were seeing and tasting. Although I have spent years... More

I spent a lot of time researching things to do in Zihuatanejo. Everyone seemed to really enjoy Monica's cooking class. I attended with two friends. We all had a wonderful time, both going to the farmers' market and then helping to prepare and eat the 3 fish dishes. I would definitely go again if I were to visit Zihuatinejo again.... More

Spent several hours observing and assisting Monica as she prepared Chiles Rellenos 5 different ways! Afterward we sat and enjoyed a lovely afternoon meal of the peppers we had created. Tequila was served at a nominal extra cost! Monica speaks English very well and has a Mexican charm all her own. We loved her stories about her grandmother and how... More

I took the Chiles Rellenos class 7/4/14 and it was a great experience and distraction from the popular tours in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo. Monica was a great teacher. Her facility was unique, casual, clean, and well organized. She was very attentive and patient while providing hands on training. Her family were very helpful and at the end of the class we all... We requested a seafood only class because we were all non-meat eaters….Monica accommodated us wonderfully. She is a great hostess and cook and speaks English. The class is in her patio…nothing fancy, but very authentically Mexican. Highly recommend!
