We were advised that if we wanted a really long beach to walk, as well as swim, we should go to Playa Blanca. It definitely is a gorgeous long beach to walk and the swimming was great, but we had difficulty finding out if there were restaurants at the far end where we could get lunch and then walk back.... While in Zihua, we set out one morning the four of us to Barra de Potosi. We went to Zihua's market to find the collectivo to Petatlan that would drop us at San Geronimito. Once dropped on the side of the road we immediately saw our ride to cover the next 10 km: the back of a pick-up truck. The... More

Spent a glorious week here for my sister's wedding. Fabulous, fresh food offered in the beachfront restaurants. There weren't many other vacationers during the time of year we visited, but one of the restauranteurs would open for us & cook whatever we wanted, on or off the menu. Clean condo's with ocean views. Fabulous snorkeling (sea turtles, dophins surfing, exotic... More

If you like warm water and like to walk in an unspoiled, beautiful setting - go anywhere from Barra de Potosi to Playa Larga to Play Blanca. It's wonderful. The restaurants - at least all the seafood we ate - were great and very inexpensive. More

I was staying in Barra de Potosi for four days and spent afternoons at Playa Blanca. The grilled fish at the beach enramada "La Condesa" was excellent. I enjoyed watching the fishermen throwing their nets and the diving of the brown pelicans to catch fish. Waves were moderate closer to the entrance of the Barra de Potosi lagoon because of... More

Playa Blanca is comprised of approximately 5 miles of unspoiled white sandy beach lined with palm trees. Together with Playa Larga, the bay offers about 10 miles of beach. You won't find jet skis, parasailers, vendors and such on this beach, but what you will find is white sand, surf to play in, dolphins playing and, on occasion, whales spouting.... More
