Los Arcos is a great place to snorkel. There are beautiful fish, not every day the same amount, but always good visible. I spotted there a MantaRay, and filmed a EagleRay.

We have visited Los Arcos several times and not only has the snorkelling been really good there all the time but several times we have seen whales on the way to Los Arcos

We took the orange bus (8 pesos one way) out to Mismaloya beach. You catch the bus in the old town where Basilio Badillo turns north onto Insurgentes. When you get to Mismaloya beach you hire a water taxi (haggle the price) and head out to Los Arcos National Marine Park. Here you can snorkel and you will find manta... More

I enjoy snorkeling in this area because I always see some interesting sea life. I have seem trumpet fish, brilliant cobalt blue fish, purple fish and many other varieties. I saw a black and yellow sea snake this time. I think the current is mellow and you can swim from one large rock to another.

This was a beautiful spot on a boating trip on the way to a beach further up the coast. We snorkled for about fifteen minutes and did end up seeing some cool fish. However, it's a popular spot, so watch out for other swimmers and a bunch of boats! Also, as soon as I jumped in the water, I started... More

While taking the water taxi from Las Animas to the PV pier, we stopped at Los Arcos to feed the fish. The bar owner in Las Animas supplied us with a bag of old bread. It was fun the see all the fish fight for the food!

Take a boat ride. I like starting at the beach at Mizmaloya. Avoid Barcelo! Snorkel, watch the birds and fish. Cruise around.

These arched rocks are nice to took at, but the boat rides have you snorkeling there, which is a waste because the water is too murky to see anything. Avoid boat rides that include this as a stop, they are interesting to look at from a distance, nothing special up close.

We went diving at various spots around Puerto Vallarta and we were very lucky to dive with a manta ray at Los Arcos. There are also nice under water canyons and I found it to be the best diving spot.

People love Los Arcos (the arches) for scuba diving. But take a water taxi to Yelapa just to pass through this extraordinary configuration of huge rocky structures--quite amazing just to see close up even if you don't dive.
