Rio Cuale Adventure with a traditional Mexican cowboy and your My Own Concierge personal GO GAY! guide. Bring your friends and make new ones as we enjoy a great day of horseback riding, local Mexican food, tequila tasting, a beautiful waterfall and swimming hole, plus plenty of all-around GAYziness. Your day begins with shuttle service through Old Town along the Rio Cuale learning about the history of Vallarta, arriving at the banks of the Cuale River where you mount your horses and venture into the foothills of the Sierra Madre mountains. Our guide will point out native plants and animals, from Basilisk lizards on the water's edge to beautiful endangered Military Macaws, colorful butterflies above, and even the occasional Coati Mundi, as you horseback ride along the riverbank and up into the hills. Continuing up the mountain from the river, you arrive at a mountain lookout point with a magnificent view of Banderas Bay and Puerto Vallarta. You'll also visit a small waterfall cascade on the river, which happens to be a great place for a swim to cool off! A half-hour later, you head back down to the river surrounded by lush tropical vegetation including wild orchids, palms, and bromeliads as you continue back to town. Your next stop is a tranquil rustic Mexican restaurant Moro Paraiso on the banks of the Rio Cuale, with authentic Mexican BBQ cooking accompanied by homemade salsas and fresh tortillas (alcoholic beverages additional). After lunch you'll head through the riverside pueblo of Paso Ancho before returning into Puerto Vallarta and civilization, with time for a relaxing massage, to chill on the beach at sunset, or dine out on the town. After enjoying the Go Gay! Jungle Adventure, we decided to take off on another trip offered by the Goy Gay! tour guides. We've been horseback riding before, and expected a short tour around some easy trails followed by some food and drink. Our expectations were exceeded by leaps and bounds. These beautiful animals and an awesome tour guide (authentic Mexican... More

My wife and I booked this tour prior to visiting Puerto Vallarta. We liked the look of the horses in the pictures, they seemed well cared for in addition to the tour photos showing people having an obviously good time. We were so impressed with the description of the tour we booked this as the first tour we went on.... More

Thank you so much for joining us on the GO GAY! Rio Cuale Adventure! It's great to hear how much fun you had, and how important the care of the horses is to you. While our guest's enjoyment is always a priority, the animals care and health is #1, and we couldn't ask for a better partner than our local... More

The guide was a friendly Mexican cowboy, the ride went through beautiful nature, and we got to spend several hours on horseback, split up by some refreshing bathing by a waterfall. The horses were responsive and easy to ride and looked well-cared-for (to my inexperienced eyes). It was great getting away from the crowds and out into nature for a... More

A beautiful ride through the mountains to a great waterfall where we went swimming and could climb a jump off a rock outcropping...birds everywhere...horses were wonderful and the guides terrific...all followed by lunch at a restaurant on the river that was really delicious. EB8 More

Andrew and Logan are great hosts, know tons about Puerto Vallarta, and are just lots of fun. Not to mention... you get to meet real Mexican cowboys, ride horses through beautiful countryside, eat at a scenic little restaurant and taste (legal) Mexican moonshine! More

Much appreciate the review and the Brokeback comparison! There really isn't anything like the views and countryside of Puerto Vallarta, and so few guests leave the beach and bars to take the time to explore. Thank you both for joining us and we hope to see you again soon! More

Have not been a a horse in quite a long time however like it's said... "It like riding a bike" but in this case a horse. It lives up to every expectation and succeeds in exceeding them. A great way to see and feel what Mexico is about. Pure and fresh just like the river and mountains that surround you.... More

Logan met us and we headed to the location to start our horseback riding. We were introduced to Juan our guide and fit to a horse. The trail took us through the river and up in to the jungle to a waterfall. Although the water was a little chilly we went into the water for a little swim. The scenery... More

I've done some horseback riding tours before, but they always came across as a bit too touristy. That was definitely not the case with Go Gay! Vallarta's Rio Cuale Adventure. As opposed to the (usual) one hour of riding you have on some tours, this tour was about 3.5 to 4 hours in all on horseback, with several long breaks... More

I went on a beautiful half-day ride along the Rio Cuale and Rio Vallejo. Terrific horses. A very handsome cowboy named Juan led the ride. The GO GAY host was charming and knowledgeable. Lunch was at a wonderful local restaurant right along the river with good Mexican food and an even better view of the river. Highly recommended. More
