Quimixto and not super commercial or americanized...and we really enjoyed that! The town people are doing their day to day things and for once we weren't approached by vendors selling something as we sat down. We strolled through the town and like many, wanted to visit the waterfalls. We chose to take the horses, but honestly, I think I would... More

I loved Quimixto. I have been to Vallarta several times and I went to Quimixto for the first time in July and thought it was amazing. I went in late July during the rainy season. The water current was too strong that day since there was a storm the previous night so it was not suggested to swim. You can... More

We went on an excursion from PV via boat, snorkel, drinks & some whale watching prior to arriving at the beach and took the horses in(additional cost but you can walk it). A very narrow path at times, amazing how easily the horses navigate it but yes, they do it every day. When we arrived at the water fall it... More

I arrived via a tour group. My gf and I opted to take the horses which were only $200/person. 30 minutes or so we arrived at the falls where you get go eat at a small restaurant that helps fund the local community. Great people, although in July the rainy season brings about alot of sediment and the water was... More

This is what one the best excursions/tours that my wife and I have taken a part of. Loved the horse ride up the mountain even though there was a slight rain, it didn't bother us one bit. Our guides Nacho and Elias were very friendly and answered any questions we had about the area. I definitely recommend this to anyone.

Make sure to get Vallarta By Boat!!! It's only $250 pesos and it included incredible service, snorkeling, open bar (tequila, rum, & beer) and your choice of going to the waterfall or just chilling on the beach. We chose the waterfall and only 3 of our group got the horses. YOU DON'T NEED TO BUY WHAT THEY'RE OFFERING!! They're going... More

Well its a very small beach, we were told by a few that Yelapa was better. But we decided to go with quimixto instead. You take the water taxi from Boca de Tomatclan to Quimixto then when you get off you go down the pier and walk through the very small pueblo to the end where you will see a... More

I went here with my boyfriend during a Vallarta Adventure, Sea Safari. First of all take cash for tips. Everywhere you go its about tips. Tip for the boat ride, tip for the crew, tips tips tips. Now about Quimixto, it was a great experience. We did some donkey riding up hills and down hills. They do have you wear... More

We rented a boat for 1/2 a day at Playa Mismaloya - Javier - just ask for him by name. His family also owns the restaurant immediately across the little walking bridge at the beach. Had a nice snorkel at Los Arcos then went to Quimixto where we walked to the water fall for a refreshing (very chilly) dip. We... More
