Nice little beach, but we were there mainly for the hike and waterfall. The hike was about 30-45 minutes to the waterfall, but totally worth it. We got lucky when we arrived at the waterfall - everyone there was leaving. So we had a waterfall to ourselves. It really is beautiful and the water is a refreshing after the hike.... More

Are you looking to get away from the crowded beaches and attractions of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and escape to a little peace and quite local style? DO NOT sign up for the expensive tours packed full of tourists and noisy, touristy people! Go it alone and on the cheap! Quimixto is a very small village south of Puerto Vallarta, has... More

This place is like a forgotten place in the mountains, I will recommend to hire a horse which is 200 pesos and they take you to the water fall which is a great experience to do, you MUST get into the water which is COLD but wakes you up. The town is a death town and they have a little... More

First, I want to thank all the people who suggested to do this activity on own rather than getting a tour. Because that's exactly what we did and had an amazingly great experience. We took the bus to Boca and then water taxi to Quimixto (they do not offer any life jackets on the water taxi, so if you don't... More

Its about a 40min walk to the falls. You can rent a horse for $20 at the base. I didn't enjoy this home as the trails for the horse back ride is the same trail as hiking by foot, so when you hike you are walking up a trail full of horse pooh and flys with the buzzing telling you... More

This place is Magical! Loved it!! This is coastal Mexico as I saw it 35 years ago. I hope they have the good sense to preserve it. If you love sitting in your "all-inclusive" being served drinks all day this is not the place for you, and the rest of us outdoorsy types would prefer you stay there as well.... More

I really enjoyed the tour we walked a bit and i decided to take a horse towards the waterfall. It was beautiful and the guides helped a lot in knowing how to ride the horses or mules.

Quimixto and not super commercial or americanized...and we really enjoyed that! The town people are doing their day to day things and for once we weren't approached by vendors selling something as we sat down. We strolled through the town and like many, wanted to visit the waterfalls. We chose to take the horses, but honestly, I think I would... More

I loved Quimixto. I have been to Vallarta several times and I went to Quimixto for the first time in July and thought it was amazing. I went in late July during the rainy season. The water current was too strong that day since there was a storm the previous night so it was not suggested to swim. You can... More
