I can say that I'm a beach lover and as such have checked them out where ever I've travelled. The beach that remains on the top of my list is Destiladeras Beach on the way to Punta de Mita and is part of the Bay of Banderas. It doesn't have fantastic facilities, in fact you could drive right by it... More

Whenever I am in Puerto Vallarta area, one day is set aside to get to this beautiful beach. A short ride (by cab or bus) usually drops you roadside to walk past the stone arch entrance sign and down the driveway to this out-of-the-way oasis. A broad area of thatched roof and numerous assorted palapas adorn the beach. Waves wash... More

This is a very nice beach and we visited it today and I think that because of Hurricane Jova or the time of year in October that we are here there is alot of rocks and the bottom is uncertain goes from shallow to deep ....The water is more blue and very clear compared to La Cruz beach and Bucerias... I live 6 months a year at Punta Esmeralda La Cruz. This beach is hands down, wide open, always a great breeze ( picks up later in the afternoon) awesome boogie boarding beach. unfortunately a huge development will be taking it over soon which is such a shame. if you love to boogie board, eat great mexican BBQ, enjoy this... First let me say the town and residents of Puerta Vallarta are fabulous. BUT~ if you travel to Puerta Vallarta or Nueva Vallarta be aware of the time of year you are traveling... Tropical climate...the Awesome rain forest dumps into the ocean along the beach making the water dirty. bug bites are aweful, take Off! Snakes slither in and out... More

We lucked into this gem thanks to our neighbors in Bucerias. We caught the Punta Mita bus and got off at Mile Marker 7... and there it was. We were there mid-week so it was very quiet. We walked for miles without seeing anyone. Finally stopped near Rancho Banderas, a time-share/condo/hotel halfway down the beach. This is one of the... More

A pristine and very friendly beach that can be reached by bus from Sam's club. Beautiful, gentle rolling waves, boogie boards and a simple restaurant. No buildings visible except a giant palapa. My favorite beach. More
