The beach was a short walk from our accommodations so we couldn't ask for better convenience. The water was not the crystal clear blue I'd seen on the Caribbean side of Mexico but still nice. My friends and I enjoyed sunbathing, parasailing, and an exciting banana boat ride. Can't beat all the restaurants right on the beach waiting for us... more

My first trip trip to Mexico was done off-season and on a shoestring for dental work. We had no idea where we would end up, but Playa de los Muertos was a delightful place to have landed. There was so much trash on this beach and it smelled bad! The area did not seem very safe for tourists. With the river nearby pumping out brown sediment and trash, I was surprised the locals let their kids swim in the water.
