This is one of my favorite hikes in the world! Walking from Boca de Tomatlan to Las Animas on a beautiful trail that Barbara Crampton has contributed to make it safer. After a good hour of work out, you arrive at this beautiful beach and you can enjoy a well deserved treat... More

We took the Shamballa excursion and cannot remember when we had so much fun...the crew provided entertainment as well as excellent service. The lunch that was included at the beach was one of the most unexpected treats of all...not your hamburger and fries but gourmet choices prepared to order. More

We paid for an 12 dollar hamberger and drink bill with a 500 peso note. The waiter would not return my change. I had to almost call the police before the waiter agreed to give me some of my change. He still ripped me off for about 8 dollors More

As soon as you climb on the pier from your water taxi, you can spot a colorful Iquana sitting motionless on top of a piling. Then, on the beach, you are offered opportunities to pose for a picture with any number of Iguanas ranging from very large to one small one offered by a very small boy. More

You had to catch a water taxi to get there! What a great time. When we arrived there were no less than five lovely beach places to park yourself. As long as you bought some refreshments, they supplied the beach chairs and umbrella. More

We walked from Boca de Tomatlan to Los Animas which is a cool hike along a trail through the jungle beside the sea. We have also walked from Los Animas to Quimixto which is fun, too. We were there the week after Easter and Los Animas was packed with Mexican tourists enjoying the holidays (Easter is bigger than Christmas in... More

We hired a boat to take us out to Las Animas - this is just the most wonderful beach - great sand, easy surf - no better way to spend a relaxing afternoon. More

We were there in 2008 and it was still a little village without much traffic and great prices for food. This time they were bringing double decker passenger ships in packed with tourists and the prices had skyrocketed. We like the more desolate places. This is a fun outing, but it's been commercialized. More

This was a fun day trip. I'm glad that we went. It is located south on the Bay of Banderas and it is an adventure getting there. We took two buses and a water taxi from Boca with our family of 6. It really wasn't hard but it took awhile. I would also recommend getting there earlier as recommended by... More

We consider our trip to Las Animas, our adventure trip. Started with two bus rides to Boca Tomatlon, then off to hike to the beach. We made it about half way when we stumbled on to a hidden treasure: The Ocean Grill (open about 10 weeks), a small restaurant (hotel is being built as I write this), only accessible by... More
