We came to Las Animas by water Taxi (Freddy from Boca de Tomatlan) for 70 pesos each way incidentally. We hung out at Pichon. I had the best fish ever on my 6 week trip here.

Nice place to relax at the sun having a beer. And remember the drinks and snacks at the beach aren't included in your tour!

We arrived here off a typical booze cruise with the promise of fun. Never happened, the waves here were so strong no one could chance going in the water & we never saw the big yellow banana that was promised. Don't waste your time here...go to Sayulita instead.

You can only reach this beach by boat. You can rent a boat at Mismaloya beah and they will take you all along the coast to other beaches including Yelapa to see the waterfall.

The water and sand here are gorgeous! We really enjoyed our time in the water. The restaurants are sketchy (typical for Mexico, from what I've seen). Also, there are a LOT of boats coming and going, which can be a little dangerous for swimmers.

Loved the location of the beach in that it was only a short water taxi away from Boca. The sand was soft and the waves were gentle.

To reach Playa Las Animus drive or bus to Boca de Tomatlan. As you pull into town note a very steep road off to the right. Proceed down to the base of the street by the river where you will be greeted by folks offering a parking spot and to taxi you around by boat for the day. These folks... More

Get away by boat. Inaccessible by roads. Beautifully quaint, small fishing village with some hotels and good restaurants on the beach. Caution: it'll cost you five bucks to have your picture taken with the local iguana. Getting in to the beach through the surf may be challenging for some, although men come out from the shore to help drag your... More

Playa Las Animas was a really nice place to relax after snorkeling near by and the food was better than you'd expect from a remote beach local.
