Rode the local bus to Boca for 20 pesos and caught a water taxi to the beach for a relaxing day. Sand is soft and waves were gentle. We parked ourselves in two very comfortable padded lounge chairs with an umbrella, had a few drinks, fresh guac and chips, and fajitas for very little dinero at a place to the... More

We where able to take a private boat to the beach and enjoy some time there. The beach is perfect for kids as the waves are not rough. The water is very clear and it was a nice place to go and hang out.

We took a day trip sailing and stopped here for a few hours. The food was really good and this was probably the best piña Colada I have ever had, they use real coconut and it was delicious. The beach is also really clean and the ocean is safe to swim in here. I only we we would have taken... More

If you enjoy hiking and are in Puerto Vallarta, this is a dayhike you will enjoy. You take the local bus in the old part of PV to Boca de Tomatlan. Once you are there, head to the water and cross one of the bridges and head south down the coast. There are a few signs that show the way... More

(Our group was: family of three, including 11-year old) This is a piece of heaven on earth... Beautiful sand and clear water, nice people and great attention, limited crowds. Best way to get there: Take orange bus line from Old town Puerto Vallarta to Boca: $8 per person. There you can take a water taxi for $40-50 per person (one... More

For those who want to get out and walk, the hike from Boca de Tomatlan to Las Animas provides an great hike. From Old Town Vallarta, we took the Mismaloya bus (8 pesos) to Boca de Tomatlan. There you have to find the bridge to cross the river and then continue to hike around the small cove and along Banderas... More

It is a nice boat ride back and forth or you can hike there. A secluded beach with 3 or 4 restaurants with good, well priced food and cold beer. A great place spend a relaxing day in the sun at the beach.

We visited this area while on a day trip with Calypso Charters. We had lunch, strolled the beach and just enjoyed the remoteness of this beach. There was also a rocky area that was fun to explore along the beach.
