We visited this beach as part of an excursion from hell, thankfully this was the saving grace. Beautiful beach with crystal water and soft sand. Compared to the other beaches In PV, this one doesn't have rivers running into it so thw water was much clearer, and it was even flecked with what looked like glitter... amazing and beautiful!

I took the bus to Boca de Tomatlan and enjoyed the challenging hike down the coast to Las Animas past excellent scenery. Las Animas beach is beautiful and I had a great healthy mahi-mahi lunch at El Coral restaurant on the sand. The price was higher than some places, but they have to bring all their supplies in by boat.... More

Yikes we were dropped off for an hour to enjoy the sand. Instead we were told to get out of the sun we would have to buy some sort of drinks and then we were constantly accosted by vendors. These are not normal vendors they come by every few seconds to see if you'll buy something. It was down right... More

Take a water taxi from Boca for 30 pesos & enjoy serenity plus great local food . rooms are available to rent if you want to spend a night or two peacefully . I enjoyed a simply prepared ( grilled ) whole Red Snapper that was bursting with flavor & freshness .

We took the bus to Boca and crossed the river to begin the hike to Las Animas. although a very short jaunty by water taxi, the hike took 1 hour and 45 minutes, but was worth every second. It was challenging, but not too hard and each time you came upon another beach, the scene before us left us breathless!... More

We took a boat from Boca de Tomatlan to Las Animas to go snorkling but the surf was a bit to rough for good visibility. Instead we hiked along to narrow trail along the coast to the next beach. It took about a half hour and could be challenging in spots. It was fun. We had a swim and then... More

We took a boat tour which included snorkeling and some time on Las Animas beach. We were left for 3-4 hours on the beach while they tried to sell us expensive buckets of beer and cheap trinkets. There was nothing special about the beach, the same as the beach right outside our hotel in Puerto Vallarta. A definite pass in... More

I went to this beach in one of the tours and only stayed there for 2 hours, but if I go to Puerto Vallarta again I would definitely go back again on my own to stay the entire day. It has a natural luxury stile that I didn´t find at Sayulita (one of the most recommended beaches around there). You... More

Just a lovely beach with amenities and restroom available. Watch for whales going and coming. I think you can only reach the beach by boat and I think it was only about a 40 minute trip. (Can't say for sure as the boat I took stopped along the route to pick up passengers at the new pier at the Malecon.)
