We spent only a day at the Malecon in Puerto Vallarta while staying at the Riu Jalisco in Nuevo Vallarta. This place has everything from some of the best dining in Mexico, to the most scenic vistas in the area. This is worth a trip back, which we will be making in December, just to see the entire Malecon with... more

After dinner, what is one to do in PVR? Most tourists choose to wander the Malecon (boardwalk) along the waters edge. There are many bronze sculptures and, of course, the spectacular sunset, along with a small theatre hosting a show nightly (just after dark). On the downside, you will be pestered by vendors selling everything from trinkets to timeshares. Plus,... more

We spent quite a lot of time on the Malecon during our trip to Puerto Vallarta. Luckily we stayed in the area so we were able to walk the Malecon daily. There is always something going on and a great spot for people watching. The sculpture lining it are quite unique and we’ve had many a great time eating at... more

This is a nice place to walk and check out all the wonderful sculptures along the way. Life is what you make of it and you could certainly complain about timeshare sharks, vendors, poor kids selling chicklets or what have you. But, the bottom line is that this is still a great walking tour! Me and my best friend walked... more

My family and I are from Californiga, we went to spend New Year's Eve in Puerto Vallarta. We stationed our car at a parking lot building, right at the end of El Malecon, it's maybe 5 or 6 stories. We had a great time shopping and eating at El Malecon. We left right before 10 p.m. When we were exiting... more

Environment: If you want to see other Americans confused and resorting to their mall manners, then this is the place to be. Everything varies wildly in price, starting at high and going to crazy, and it seems like every store has exactly the same merchandise. It was kind of Tijuana like to me. If you are afraid or don't want... more

We walked the Malecon almost every night. I couldn't get enough of it. It was so fun being immersed in the cultural. We always went at night and then picked a restaurant on the waterfront. There is a pirate ship tour everynight and as part of their show they shoot fireworks from the ship. If you are eating dinner on... more

After walking through town we ended up on the boardwalk. It has many different types of statues, some very eclectic and beautiful. Bring your camera for sure! We were also impressed by how clean it was kept, at one point we saw a town worker actually scrubbing the silver garbage cans. We were very impressed by how much pride the... more

Just got back from PV and spent alot of time stroling along the Malecon. What a cool little boardwalk along the coastmust be special when there are whales in the bay. Although it was extremly hot (be sure to reapply suntan lotion) even at 7- 8 pm. Me and my g/f had a blast during our stay they had a... more
