We spent several days at the El Cid resort and had a great time. They have a large swimming pool that kids (and adults) can spend lots of time diving, jumping, swimming through caves, and sitting in waterfalls. When not swimming, we greatly enjoyed the food and shows in the evening at the El Cid. Many actors, dancers, musicians, and... more

I very much enjoyed 3 rounds at the El Cid old course during my vacation in March of 2009. This was easily the most relaxing golf experience which I have ever had. The serenity of this mature and well kept course is embellished by pleasant vistas of the Mazatlan countryside. The course is very well designed, with no overlapping holes... more

My wife and I were at the Cid for a week in Dec. What a great trip. I played all three sides on the golf course and they were in fine shape. The sunset view from our comfortable room was primo . The food and the service at the beach club was first rate. The staff spoke English and the... more

I have been playing it for several years now. The original eighteen are set up old style, tree lined fairways winding through nice homes. You need to be able to shape shots and is a good test of your skills. The marina nine (designed by Lee Trevino) are long and challenging. You have lots of options for your shots. I... more

Was a "member" of El Cid golf course for 3 years. Course is generally in poor condition as the owner spends the minimum to keep it up. Hit into by owner's friends with no recourse. Have to pay extra for "beater" range balls. Groups of 8 players from cruise ships, plus caddies, are allowed (looks like a parade) and takes... more

Played golf on March 26 2008. Our caddy Gregory was fantastic. the course was being worked on so it was a little rough playing. It was also our first time to play in Mexico so we do not have anything to compare it to. I would personally rate it 3 out of 5. we stayed accross the street at the... more

CONVENIENCE!!!!! that's what this place is all about. right across the street from el cid and other gold zone hotels. the original 18 holes are heavily tree-and-house-lined. the new, marina 9, is not nearly as "crowded." you must use a caddy, and these guys are a blast -very professional, knowledgable, and helpful -and they'll needle you if you've got some... more

The newer Trevino course (Marina) is dry and not very well maintained. Inconsistent greens, sloping tee box, no shade or benches are just a few of the issues for as expensive the fees are. The play is wide and in an area where houses are not too much of an issue. This however does not make up for its faults….... more

The course is challenging and could be great course. However, some of the greens were a bit shaggy and slow while others were quite slick. The inconsistency in the greens made it difficult to get into a putting rythum. The caddy we were forced to use provided very little local knowledge about the course. I am not sure if it... more

I golfed at the El Cid Country Club Golf Course and it was not quite what I expected. The course was not that well kept and the tee boxes were very poor. There was a nice mix of water on the holes to make it visually appealing. However, I felt that there were way too many houses around the course.... more
