looking at all the old architecture, in the area, stopping by one of the many open air cafes and having a drink with chips and salsa.. just enjoying thee area.... just a few blocks from the beach.... and a pretty hopping place during the weekends.....

Lots of good places to eat and all kinds vendors selling their wares. There is a bandstand there so several times of week there is live music.

Everything in Mazatlan happens in the evening and we unfortunately didn't stay up late so didn't get to experience it.

We always make it to Plaza Machado at least three times while we are staying in Mazatlan. This year we have gone twice in the evening. All of the restaurants were open and on the weekends there were vendors selling their jewelry or other crafts. This place was buzzing with people and music on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Not sure... More

Restaurants, music, old architecture made me feel like I was in another time. Ate here twice, excellennt food, a tad pricey.

The atmosphere is lovely, especially on a week-end evening. It is magical with the music, sidewalk restaurants vendors and lighting.

Plazuela Machado is a secondary, smaller plaza (hence plazuela) but it is a great spot at any time of the day/week - Mexicanos & tourists mingling & enjoying the evening particularly on weekend when there is music and good on 3 sides off he square.
