I have been all over Mexico and I must say there are very few places as special as the Plaza Machado in Mazatlan where history comes alive. Colonial buildings from the turn of the 19/20th century fully restored that are now homes, hotels, restaurants with sidewalk cafes, and trees plants and a Gazebo that lights up at night that are... We go to the Plaza at least 2-3 nights per trip and have 4 restaurants (so far) that we routinely eat in.

The restaurants lining the Plaza set up outdoor tables and are very colorful. You can't go wrong with a meal and many of... More

Really enjoyed this square. Ballet, Flaminko, Cafe and the policia was a thrill and delight. Head so many awful stories about mazatlan but after a nice experience I wonder what mazatlan people were talking about :)

Our first night we visited Plaza Machado, nothing else on our trip came close to the atmosphere of this square. The music was making all of us feel like moving to the beat.

We went in the evening on a Saturday. It was very busy. Great street entertainment, lots of vendors, great entertainment. Loved it!
