The outer streets are shut down and the restaurants set up tables and chairs in the streets, the centre area is a park filled with vendors selling their wares. A great place to sit and dine or just have a drink while listening to the musicians play.

There wasn't much to see at the Plaza. I thought it would've been a lot more lively than it was. It turned out to be pretty quiet and relaxing place though. There are a lot of restaurants here and many historic colonial buildings here. I ate at the Pedro and Lola restaurant here... great food!

We got to Mazatlan on a Friday night and this was the first place we went - in the dark on the bus - but it was great and very safe! Relaxing vibe of various bands playing in various restaurants. By far the best restaurant in the square is Pedro & Lolas. TIP: Don't get a pomenia (Golf cart cab)... More

You haven't visited Mazatlan until you've visited Plaza Machado on the weekend. Live music, local shops with tables showcasing their wares, a host of restaurants with ushers vying for your business... this is the place to be. Some of the best restaurants in the area are within walking distance of Machado.

We lived close enough to this square that we walked through numerous times, each time enjoying the foliage and ambiance.

The same themes of Buenos Aires and Spain and Portugal prevail, how impressive that they are attempting to preserve the antiquity in the facade and there is such a nice feeling of community closeness in the Restaurant and the People very friendly>

People watching, culture viewing, food options galore and so much sightseeing! Just be careful of the many uneven curves - not recommended for strollers, wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, etc. otherwise, don't miss it. I can't begin to recount all of the beautiful, interesting and different than home sights I saw today. So enriched by this day of exploration.
