The Heart of Old Mazatlan - with renovated historical buildings on all sides, the school of art on one end, several restaurants and bars. A great meeting place - wonderful light for photos - a great focal point from which to explore the old city.

Calm and peaceful after the congestion at the Mercado and plaza by the Cathedral. Pleasant restaurants. Pedro y Lola's is an upscale "locals" restaurant.

Plazuela Machado is surrounded by restaurants, has entertainment either outside or in one of the venues most nights, has a weekend evening craft market on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and is a great place to sit and people watch.

Plazuela Machado starts to get busy as the sun begins to go down. A band plays in the bandstand drawing a small crowd to watch and listen. There are stalls selling mostly home made beaded jewellery.
