This is old town Mazatlan. The true culture of the the family. You have to experience this night life. If not, why even say you have been to Mazatlan.

We went on a Sunday afternoon and there wasn't much going on but everyone in the town seems to point you in this direction so it must be a pretty happening place. I wish we would have got to see some of the bands I heard so much about.

I trek down to the Plaza almost every night for dinner or to listen to music whilst in Maz. The ambiance is amazing, there is a wide range of restaurants to chose from. My favorite is Pedro y Lola, you must try the banana creme pie - to die for! Wonderful area for watching locals on the weekends.

We were fortunate enough to visit on the last of the Art Walks, held on the first Friday from November-May. So happy that we took the opportunity to visit Plaza Machado. There are many nice restaurants with outdoor seating and music. Such a great atmosphere. Also some great shops.

I spent a lot of time at Plaza Machado, at various times of the day, evening and night, sometimes at peak times - carnival, and other times just a weekday and found that there was always something to see. I have tried numerous restaurants around the plaza and all have been good.
