18-hole championship golf course built in 1996, and designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. The course layout is adjacent to the ocean where six of the holes and fairways are situated right off the beach. Tropical landscaping, clusters of palm trees lining the fairways, strategically placed bunkers, impeccably manicured greens and spectacular views. Estrella Del Mar hosted the 2011 Mexican PGA Championship for the first time May 5-8, just one of only two events held in Mexico on the Canadian Tour's 2011 schedule.

This newish golf course on the shore 25 miles south of Centro is well organized and still in its very early stages of development. The course appears complete, and the entire place attractive, but relatively few lots have been developed to date. I believe it is possible to stay at the small hotel without being a member. But it is... More

Love to go out to Estrella for golf. The course will beat you up, but it is fun. Many holes go toward the ocean. Sometimes the wind kicks up, changing what you need to hit. Particularly on 16! Restaurant available for breakfast or lunch. They will deliver on the course. After the round Margaritas help ease the pain of your... More

Rental clubs here are very very good. Burner woods\irons and in good shape. They were grooming the course for the Mazataln Open, so the course was in terrific shape. Lots of water and sand and I examined many of the traps. One thing stands out is small greens. It was like shooting at postage stamps. Friday's were two-fers ... normal... More

This is one of the finest resort locations and golf courses I have ever visited. The course is parallel to the ocean which makes golfing a new experience.

I organized a group to play this course during a recent trip to Mazatlan. For $130 USD, our green fees, club rental, cart, and transportation to and from our resort was covered. It was probably the most scenic golf course I've ever played at. Most of the holes on the back nine border the ocean. It was great. Positives: The... More

The course is actually situated outside of town near the airport. If you're a golfer it is the best place in my opinion. The fairways are always in good shape as are the greens. They will likely be slower than most greens you come across in the US. Cost can be expensive, but watch for specials. There is a decent... More

Excellent well maintained course, under-utilized; easy to get teetimes and reasonable rates. Friendly staff. Private sandy beach, lots of pools for families.

This Robert Trent Jones course is way out of town but right near the airport. It was empty when we played on a Monday. It is a great layout and quite tough, especially the last four holes along the ocean.

the view of the ocean is fantastic, food is good. Tried the tuna, was good, and the clubhouse sandwich was fine. best of all was the view of the ocean. A small 10 km drive from the airport.
