Most restaurants were closed. Pretty much waste of our time. Took water taxi to tour nearby waters and had lunch at Mary's and to view Grand Isla Navidad Resort. Low costs water taxi. Water was very murky due to Hurricane Patricia.

What can I say, I have been visiting Barra for the last 10 years and it still keeps it's small town charm. If I did not already live in paradise, then i would move here, well maybe in time I will.

just an amaizing and quiet town, but the restaurant named Freedom is the best around the area, with pedro and nena the hoste, food delicious and the azteca soup the best ever

This is a quiet laid back town where you can find shops good food, Keep in mind the roads are narrow here if you have a large car or truck I would recommend parking it outside the city center. The water Taxi is one of the best ways to see and get to everything. I like to Jet ski here... More

Go back to the 60's & 70's - they are here. Great off-the-beaten-path location. Neat boutiques & great seafood. There is a craft market with super buys. Ocean front or inlet views, inexpensive accommodation. Don't spread the word!
