Nice town and beaches

I loved the town. Very relax, nice and long beaches, high waves and cheap food. This is an option to rest for a weekend....

A nice stroll down the breakwater then catch a free water taxi from the Mary's Restaurant pier across to a laid back eat and relax xperience. Shop your way up and down the streets or stop at the weekly Thursday mercado. Take the day, take the family, take your time. Have fun, smile and slow down.

Barra has the ocean on one side, and a lagoon on the other so the best of all worlds. Restaurants were all full at that time. San Patricio is nicer in my opinion for beach cafes as there is only a thin beach in Barra. The town is nice, calm and quiet, between lagoon, channel and sea so water on three sides.

Barbra de Navidad is a picturesque town on the Pacific. There are many great restaurants and shopping. This is a great hop off spot for someone to visit by boat the village of Colimilla.

I have visited Barra de Navidad since the early 1980s and have a great fondness for the place. There is still some charm to be found but it seemed deserted when I visited in November/December 2015. Numerous hurricanes have taken away the beach and some development has impacted its quaint atmosphere. Some restaurants and bars have moved to Melaque which... More
