We took a spontaneous side trip to Barra after starting out in Manzanillo. The people were friendly, the town was clean, and a good time was had by all. Be sure to fish with Reel1In SportFishing and eat in Colamilla. More

Our kids choose to come here over Hawaii for their winter holiday and now my daughter runs a restaurant in the high season. This is where we choose to winter. What an amazing little town. Never felt safer in all my life. Lots of great shops, bars and restaraunts. Thursday's are market day in the square. This is an absolute must visit town if you are in the area. We stayed at Grand Bay and it was only $20 pesos to take the little water taxi across round trip More

It was the town we had to go too to visit Grand Bay Resort. It is on the ocean, and had a lot of restaurants, stores, small hotels and fishing boats were there in several places. A lot of the local people spoke quite a bit of english. I think it would be a nice town to visit while staying... More

Melaque is better. I prefer less tourists but that is just me. Lots of canadians winter at both. Take a bus over to melaque, stay at one of the small hotels along the ocean and chill. Stop at the top of the hill if coming from Manz and enjoy the view of the coconut plantations. More

It's nice little town to take a day trip with family, you could eat at one of the many reastaurants located on the bay or the ocean we have been lucky and liked the food at all that we have visited, it's also nice for the singles they have a lot of beach bars, and the little town seems safe... This is a quaint little tourist village located about 40km north of Manzanillo. Worth checking out! Lots of neat little shops and restaurants. They are very tourist friendly. It is situated on a peninsula, so it is very fun to rent a jet ski from the harbour & check out the sites. More

Here is where you can get fresh seafood at a reasonable price, should be around 120-130 pesos so around $11 for a dozen shrimp. THe place is really beautiful , not great shopping it's all blankets and trinkets More
