The malecon is a nice spot to take a walk outside of the tourist area. Seeing the enormous statue of the sailfish is a MUST while in Manzanillo bc it is sailfish capital of the world. Plus, a completely different view of the bay than what you see in the tourist district & you pass Mexico's biggest port along the... More

Zihuatenjo has a great, quiet, maldecon with beautiful bronzes of the women whe created the culture. Manzanillo's maldecon reflects it's history from a pirate stop to the bustling port it's today. PV has a busy maldecon, touristas and Mexicanos vacationing, go while a footbal final is on, what a rush.

The Malecon loops around to the lagoon side of the bar. The restaurants and bars are all good; it would be hard to pick a favorite. There is music somewhere every night. The streets are clean a well-lit, even if the parking is farther away. A little Spanish helps, but there is always someone who peaks English.

It's a small malecon but with a couple of cool looking ships. It's right downtown and there are several souvenir shops in the area.

It was a quiet and nice time that I spent sitting on a bench, having a soft drink and enjoy the view. The huge marlin statue is amazing. If you are an outgoing person, you can make a good conversation with the locals or just enjoy some music if you carry a music player around. It was a nice stop... More

Not much else to do. Nothing like Pier 39 in S.F. A few shops that sell tourist trinkets, a few dining establishments, the city hall. Not even much action in the harbor (i.e. boats) to look at. Save to walk down. Might be fun on an evening when events are planned (i.e. street faire).

See local monuments along the way. There "mangos on a stick" available. Great swimming on the bay, with Umbrellas, or surfing on the ocean side HUGE WAVES!
