The Malecon area in Manzanillo is not a "touristy" as others that one finds in Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, etc. This is a working port and it shows. But the huge sailfish statue and nearby plaza do offer some appeal for a stroll.

Friendly locals. Good prices. Touristy but not crowded. Easy off and on from cruise ship. Weather in December is perfect.

It was cool to do and see. The best part was feeding the birds. It was hilarious. Throw some crushed up crackers on the ground and you will have a thousand birds at your feet.

This is a lovely area to walk around, see the statues and ships in harbour. It was very clean and we felt safe. Great place to get some exercise, enjoy a relaxing time and learn about this part of Manzanillo. People were very friendly. It had the biggest Mexican flag and the huge blue fish statue.

We did some shopping and walked around the area. There is lots of little stores and different little restaurants. It felt very safe.

The blue "Sail Fish" statue is huge and represents the fact that Manzanillo is one of the best area for deep sea fishing. Along the malecon (seaside sidewalk) there are many beautiful and interesting statues.

The malecon is a nice spot to take a walk outside of the tourist area. Seeing the enormous statue of the sailfish is a MUST while in Manzanillo bc it is sailfish capital of the world. Plus, a completely different view of the bay than what you see in the tourist district & you pass Mexico's biggest port along the... More

Zihuatenjo has a great, quiet, maldecon with beautiful bronzes of the women whe created the culture. Manzanillo's maldecon reflects it's history from a pirate stop to the bustling port it's today. PV has a busy maldecon, touristas and Mexicanos vacationing, go while a footbal final is on, what a rush.

The Malecon loops around to the lagoon side of the bar. The restaurants and bars are all good; it would be hard to pick a favorite. There is music somewhere every night. The streets are clean a well-lit, even if the parking is farther away. A little Spanish helps, but there is always someone who peaks English.
