Found the city of Manzanillo very clean and very honest people. We were standing on the street corner and a young fellow asked us if we were OK. Kind of surprised us but thought that was pretty cool!

This is the actual city of Manzanillo. Head straight down the first street from the Sailfish & let the Mexican handicrafts, Manzanillo t-shirts & souvenir shopping begin! Its shop after shop for at least 5 blocks, prices are so cheap that there is no need to haggle. Restaurants, & Hotel Colonial are located right in the middle of it all.... More

not much to see here, just the big blue fish statue, not even many shops or markets to check out. We stopped here as part of a half day trip but expected this to be the highlight, was disappointing.

This is an amazing city with amazing people. I think the dislike is more on the travellers reviews. Remember you are in an older part of Mexico you are not getting New York city 5* resort, but you will get a great vacation in a wonderful city

We visit the market several times to purchase fresh fruits and fresh juice. El Centro (jardin area) has many tourist shops as well as the experience of the bay area.

You can't miss the City Centre. It has the large blue sailfish sculpture with a park with some oddly decorative trees. The town plaza has a variety of tourist shops and restaurants besides the usual government buildings. We only stopped for a drink so can't comment on the food. The church is up the hill and worth a stop (its... More

Very typical of Central American shops. Streets are really quite clean. Some modernization and street improvements have been made over the years however you still get the smaller town feel. Vendors are great and not pushy. The mercado is multi level with partking on top. Lots of fresh produce and meats. Great buys.

There aren't a lot of tourist hotels if any in the downtown core of Manzanillo. If you do visit you will find a busy main avenida with many stores with prices much lower than you will find in Plaza Manzanillo or other big stores along the main boulevard in the Salagua / Las Hadas areas where most of the tourists...
