We visited Las Gatas on Good Friday and it was packed with locals. It was a fantastic atmosphere with large families headed to the beach to enjoy the sunshine and water. We found everyone very friendly More

This beach has a reef made by an ancient ruler... you can snorkel and put your chair right up to the edge of the water! More

decent snorkling on the beach side of the rock reef, a bit more dicey out from the rock reef...panga drivers really pushed for tips. Reasonalble drinking and beach dining, some visitors brought their own in coolers and were welcomed to use the umbrellas of the restaurants. More

We found a great spot at Las Brisas rest. to spend the afternoon swimming and snorkelling. Las Gatas was quieter than past years, so many empty restaurants along the beach.........The water was nice and clear for snorkelling, lots of small stingrays, We were told that the water was cold and they come closer to shore for warmth. Cold beer and... More

Most of the fishing trips end up here and have a restaurant that will cook the fish that you caught for you. We had sashimi (not sure of spelling), raw black tuna with lime juice and spices - was pretty good. Others come here... More
