I played Palma Real in mid-February 2006 and had a wonderful time. The course is a bit spotty, but better than I expected. I was in Zihautanejo last month and I have just played my last round ever at Palma Real. Over the years I seen the Palma Real prices continuing to increase while the quality of the course has declined. Do not get me wrong, Palma Real is a nice golf course, but not for the price. 10 years ago golf in Ixtapa was the best bargain anywhere. 4 years ago the prices went up sharply.
