The beach was clean along most of the length (southeast end had some debris. Surf was moderate most days, although a little rough for small children. Surf towards northwest was too rough for most swimmers (4-6 foot breakers). Even though all the hotels were full, the beach didn't seem overly crowded. More

This beach fronts the major hotels on the strip in Ixtapa. It features clean, clear and warm water! The wave action is non-stop. I marked the beach down from excellent because it is a beach where you don't want to leave young children unattended - the waves can get pretty rough. For experienced, safe swimmers, it is wonderful!
