This is a great beach, we have been many times. Water can be calm but I have also seen it choppy so be careful when snorkeling as some shallow areas with lots of coral. People are very friendly, Food is good and fresh/right out of water at places I have eaten. Very nice view from the Church area up top. More

San Augustin is one of the most beautiful bays I have ever seen. We hired a taxi for the day ($100) and it was worth the money and the the 1 hour drive. It is snorkeling paradise (it is like swimming in an aquarium) and the beach bars will let you use their beach furniture in exchange for buying a... More

Got sick on the food at one of the restaurants. I hadn't been sick in Mexico for years and years. Maybe not worth the long boat ride to go twice, but certainly worth seeing at least once. More

A taxi driver on the way from La Entrega mentioned that San Augustin has bigger reef and excellent snorkeling, and indeed it does. Nearly perfect beach - long, wide and very picturesque. Part of it is occupied by few restaurants where locals live. I took a table at one of them and asked for orange juice, which was squeezed there... More

Did you ever want to go back in time? Did you ever want time to stand still? If yes, then Playa San Augustin is for you. By road it is located just west of the airport. You go down an old dirt road that passes by a small village and several fruit farms. The beach is a mile or 2 in... More

Hire a local at the Marina and discover the bays and sights along the way. Usually a stop at India to snorkel first and then onto Playa San Augustin! Many colorful fish here. Variety of grat local restaurants and very SAFE!!! Huatulco Friends More

Nice place to go for lunch though a bit overpriced compared to town. Lovely to sit and eat on the beach while the kids snorkelled and played in the water. More

Hard to reach but worth the 1 hour from Huatulco. Taxis available but don't like the 8 miles of dirt. More

We took a taxi to San Augustine Beach, cost was around $250 peso each way, cab driver stayed and waited for us, we stayed for about 5 hours, enjoyed the snorkeling, which was very good, water very clean and clear, drinks on the beach were anywhere from $20-25 peso. I would recommend a trip here during your stay in Huatulco. More
