Lovely little open air restaurants

Our snorkel tour through Apple at Dreams hotel stopped at this bay for lunch. Our captain directed us to one of the restaurants. The first clue that it was a tourist rip-off was the menu in dollars with the least expensive meal at $15... We knew and we still ordered lunch. The lunch turned out to be very good, my... More

This was our last stop on the 7 bays tour. We liked it because - first the food was excellent. And secondly we were told that even though this bay is part of the national park, the owners of the restaurants had been grandfathered in when the park was formed. So no indigenous people were displaced unlike our own country.

We visited this bay on a days boat tour of the 9 Huatulco bays. The bay and beach itself was lovely. Our boat driver brought us here for a lunch stop and we were definitely pressured to eat at a spot on the right hand end of the beach (as you approach from the water). I suppose we could have... While on a snorkelling trip we stopped at Maguey Bay for lunch. Super expensive! Bathroom break comes at a cost.

Loved that the owner came and sat with us- we had hired a boat for the day, and the boat owner- Gilberto took us to this little restaurant. Beer was ice cold- fish excellent and lots of delicious fresh guacamole.

Maguey Bay was our second stop for lunch on our Sea and Sand tour. We ate at El Pescador and could order anything we wanted. There was fresh fish, lobster, stuffed pineapple, and it was kind of a hard choice when I did not want to be too full. The beer was not that cold and the vendors were constantly... More

Maguey Bay has great restaurants and a very nice beach - visit it before the whole bay gets turned into a mega resort, and gets ruined! Thanks RIU Resorts for taking the bay over from hardworking and friendly locals. Its a shame

Whether you wish to hang out with people or be by yourself, this is a beach that has it all. Several restaurants, ski doo/snorkel rentals plus various other activities and one can watch locals catch mussels. One day while there, we go to watch the Cruise ship leave.
