This is a relatively young museum, it oppened its doors in 1999 and since then has been showing its visitors all the diversity of life that can be found in the dessert of Coahuila, Nuevo Leon and Chihuahua. The most amazing things to me are the dinosaur fossils they have, you can see the entire museum in less than a... More

Well explained, featuring very kind high school students as guides, with interesting exhibitions concerning natural and human history of the desert Mexican lands, and their living ways, from ancient times to the present, this museum is really a must when in Saltillo.

Because of the ranking I thought this museum has to be more than great, but I was disappointed. In my opinion there's a concept missing, you go from one room to another switching the times (from fossils to Dinosaurs back to the big bang and than a leap in time to the desert). But the entrance is not that expensive... More

This is a really nice, large museum, allow plenty of time (2-3 hours). Lots of animals to see as well. The dinosaurs exhibits are amazing.

Located in the Mexican dessert, this ecological Museum provides a great visibility both on nature and resources of the dessert. Great expositions and museography.

Its a lot bigger than expected we rushed thru it and it took us about two hours, it is very well organized, the presentation is also excelent the only fault was there were no descrptions in English and restroom at the entrance, but well worth the visit to learn the natural history of Coahuila.

I went to the Museo del Desierto for the cacti and succulents, but stayed for the well organized, didactic and interactive exhibitions. The different sections are focused on the all aspects of desert flora, fauna, geology, geomorphology, meteorology as well as human interaction. I was particularly impressed with the dinosaur and fossils exhibitions, and the fact that the exhibit offered... More
