This is the most emblematic mountain in Monterrey. This mountain is being destroyed by construction companies building houses and destroying the Green áreas. Even then there is a track you can take to walk up the mountain, it can be steep and dangerous if you do not know how to go up and back.

Finally got a chance to hike up the Cerro de la Silla – on my birthday, no less – and it was quite an experience! We stopped at several vantage points, including the main lookout... More

This is the symbol of Monterrey city. Imponent views and a trademark of northern Mexico. A Visit to Monterrey is complete when you take a picture with this mountain at the back

I had the privilege of actually climbing part of the "cerro" and it is filled with wonderful wild flowers, insects, waterfalls, etc, etc. Even bad tasting wild oranges grow there. This is a MUST see place and you must be in great shape to climb. Many locals go there every morning for their daily exercise. I was there in August... More

Whenever you see a picture of a Mountain beside the name Monterrey you are seeing the Cerro de la Silla. It is called this way because it is very similar to the horse chair and the traduction is hill form the chair. It is really beautiful , different and inspiring.

It is a very nice experience to go all the way to the top of the mountain to be able to see the chain of mountains, but if your physical condition is not so good, the middle part is also worth it to get a panorama of the city. The way up is a little bit heavy, but not impossible.... More

This is one of the mountains responsible for Monterrey being called "The city of the mountains". This mountain receives it´s name because it looks like a horse saddle. You can better appreciate ir from "The Obispado"
