Dress comfortable! This was our first time to Cola de Caballo and as we were unsure what to expect so we dressed in jeans. What a mistake! I highly recommend to wear shorts and a casual t-shirt with maybe a cap and sunglasses (at least that's what we plan to wear next time). Because our trip was a spur of... more

Cola De Caballo (Horse Tail Falls) in Monterrey Mexico abuses its horses. They are made to run up cobble stone embankments while hauling an overloaded tourist wagon. A beautiful waterfal, and cool respite from the searing heat of Monterrey. Definitely an easy climb up to the falls, the horses are not worth it unless you have little children or folks who tire easily. The falls and the town of Santiago make a nice day trip together. more

Ok I love waterfalls and this one is pretty nice. Don't take the ride on the horse as it would be a waste of money.. the horse only takes you a block and then you have to walk.. they have a photographer for $4 us.. nice picture thou.. The waterfall can get you wet, so bring a towel if you... more

This review mentions a great museum in Saltillo and focuses on an area just south of Monterrey, especially the Cola de Caballa waterfall, a must-see gorge, and the "high rise", all within Parque Nacional Cumbres de Monterrey that this reviewer visited in early July 2003.
